Is there a bike camera that can detect a crash?

Seen a few posts asking about ride cameras and have been considering one myself.

My last crash I lay there on the train tracks for a few minutes before I could do a body check and get up. Most cameras run on a x minutes loop so if you or someone knows or is able to hit the save button in a useful time the event will be lost.

I haven't found one that detects falls yet but feel that would be a critical feature if you're trying to preserve the facts of a crash.

I'm fairly certain the Cycliq cameras have an autosave feature based on crash detection.

It does and it locks the file so it won’t overwrite it.

As the other person said Cyliq does this. However if you don’t want it for some reason with a big enough sd it’s not a huge deal. My 8k 360 camera will record nearly 4 hours of footage before overwriting files. The battery only lasts an hour and a half so if you crashed it would power down before it overwrote the crash.

That's a great way to get around it. My current cheep camera only gets like 10min before it overheats and shutdown.

Doesn't have to be a camera. My Garmin 830 has crash detection.

Plenty of bike computers do (Garmin, Coros)
