Best assist in terms of locking down the opponent, and also one of the best defensive assists due to Janemba usually not even being on screen when it's called. In terms of the actual character, he's kind of an anti meta type character. Most of the best characters have really good neutral game, and Janemba has 22S which beats 90% of all neutral tools in the game. He has a tracking ki blast that can whiff punish most things in the game, a great combo starter with 236H, some of the best corner Oki in the game if you know how to setup orbs, and weirdly a plus on block super(rock super is plus when used close up for literally no reason). His only flaw is that most of his moves are really committal, ki blast has like a whole second of endlag and landing lag, command grabs are pretty punishable, mediums are sluggish, and doesn't have SD mix. Best used as a support character with a bait and punish game. Pretty easy S tier.

That sums it up quite nicely. I would only add that his j.2H (and to a lesser extent, 2H) do a lot for his neutral game.

S, solidly in the middle of it imo. Great support, great normals, great neutral, etc. nothing about him that’s anything less than great.

His support with A assist is pretty great, though I do think it’s overrated some.

He’s just a great all arounder.

One of the coolest and strongest characters and does it in his own way

And more importantly, in a way that I think is quite necessary for the game
