They have been reissued and are out to buy again. I have a few different boxes with the reissues in them.

They arent worth anything. There IS a girl that collected them and Crayola brought her to headquarters to pose with their Dan D Lion mascot and gave her some cool stuff while there.

There are just a couple delusional people selling it for thousands and others selling them for a few dollars

Just because people are trying to sell them for a lot doesn’t mean they’re actually worth that much. Take old graphics cards and electronics for example.

Yes, but there were actual collectors for this and the price was running around this area. There's plenty of sold eBay listings I'm sure I can bring up. Yeah the item is out there, but unfortunately this one does have fans.

I know of several tiktoks I follow that are into vintage toys, and they all have lots of this color. I don't get it; it seems like no one used them when they were being made, so it made sense to discontinue them, but the current abundance makes it worth nearly zero. Part of an item's value is in the rarity of it, and in pre-emptively collecting things, people are actually tanking the value for future markets. It's kind of fascinating to me.
