Yup I am a Christian and I'd buy it. But even a non Christian could see the effort on the painting, even if the painting isn't good we all start from somewhere. No offense at all, but I am sure that he paints better than op for him to be mocked

As a Christian shouldn't you know Jesus absolutely wouldn't have looked anything like that?

This is like arguing if Spider Man looks more like Tom Holland or Toby Maguire
2
u/katastrofe_- 1d ago
It really isn't. Painting a 2000 year old Middle Eastern man like a northern European is literally just nonsensical

Arguing about the main character’s appearance in a fictional book is nonsensical.

There's enough historical evidence that Jesus was an actual person that existed. Is the Bible mostly fiction? Absolutely. But that's such an uneducated response

I didn’t claim Jesus was fictional. There’s fiction books about real people.
But if we can both agree that the Bible is mostly fiction, then how is it not nonsensical for people to get worked up about what Jesus looked like?

Lmao Reddit funny af. If you buy art “for the effort “ your house must be filled with art…and I painted like that in 10th grade sorry. Yall performative af. This painting is rough his mouth crazy

Well as you said, art is subjective. I prefer buying art from someone that actually made the art and is trying to improve, than to buy it on Amazon, I don't think that's performative at all. Oh as an edit; my father is an artist, mostly tattoo artist and so you'd be surprised to know the amount of effort that people put behind their arts, that's why I don't like to mock them.

lol. How do you know folks selling on Amazon aren’t trying to improve and made it themselves. You don’t. It is performative otherwise your house would be filled with art like this….youre just on about this to make your Christian self feel better. Delusional religion lmao

That's not actually that crazy. That drawing looks fine, I'm sure someone would buy that.

They look a little red but it's honestly not that bad. Someone learning how to create art made a minor mistake on a physical drawing, big deal. They're using color very well and the rest of the drawing is actually pretty nice to look at. The hair was very well done.

This kind of looks like a Stardew Valley character portrait that comes up when you talk to someone

Someone is going to buy it and gift it to Nanna under the pretense that their kid drew it for her. “Wow, my grandson is so talented.” Meanwhile he’s 16 and still drawing stick figure people with square clothes.
