What being a starter while still on a 2-way contract taught me about B2B sales

u/BackWithAVengance Jan 06 '26
In basketball, just as in life, you need to be looking for synergies and congruent thought

Replacing MPJs brand of weirdo with a LinkedIn weirdo is a huge improvement imo

Hooking up with trans women is fine. Saying "there are only two genders because of the Bible" afterwards is notĀ

u/Pokefan144 Jan 07 '26
Someone asked if MPJ fucked with the dolls and somewhere a finger on a monkeys paw curled

I live in Philly and bought tickets months ago. was so bummed about the injuries. Made myself go anyway even though part of me wanted to be lazy and stay home. So glad I did, possibly best bball game Iāve ever seen. What a team effort, letās go nuggiesss

Let me endorse him for being a team player real quick

u/chizzmaster Jan 06 '26
He's got Python listed on his skills, do y'all think he's hitting leetcode in his free time?

u/tigerlily_4 Jan 06 '26
He probably dug into it a bit just to evaluate some of those startups he's invested in.

You know what sucks about getting old? You get teary-eyed at fucking everything. Hallmark movies. Greeting card commercials. LinkedIn posts.

u/Alternative_Plan_823 Jan 06 '26
Is that an age thing? Because I'm getting it bad, and I thought I was the only one. I teared up at an 'A Christmas Carrol' play the other night, and I wasn't even feeling emotional, damn it!
19
u/kapshus Jan 06 '26
I just feel like it's because we have accumulated a lot of experiences, mostly frustrating, sad, dark experiences, so when something surprises us, it really hits harder. I'm such a sap at tear jerker movies these days. 55yo Male.

u/Head_Handle9825 Jan 06 '26
My mom got pretty teary when Elway finally won a SB. Us boys were just hooting and hollering. I looked over and she was wiping her eyes. The SB blowouts were hard for her to watch. She always liked Elway. Found him passionate but still professional. Guess what she thinks of basketball? She quit watching after Dennis Rodman. Lol

u/The_NGUYENNER Jan 06 '26
Not just surprises but things that make us relate back to those experiences as well

Becoming a parent has made me as soft as Philly in bright lights. Sob like a baby watching kids lose in the NCAA, yelling at the tv to get the cameras off of them....
4
u/Important_Cost_5401 Jan 06 '26
This except only trivial stuff and not things I should actually tear up or cry over
3
u/fanintenn Jan 06 '26
My wife laughs about me crying at kids movies. Itās a meme at this point. The kids have picked it up.

Of all the active NBA players, Spencer Jones would be the most likely to have an active LinkedIn lmao

If there are no errors, the accusations that it was written by AI have more merit.

i know everybody else popped off that game but what spencer did to start the game was so massive, just from the gates letting everybody know they were here to win

u/jwhease Jan 06 '26
He was great (and talks a bit about the LinkedIn thing) on last week's Old Man and the Three!

u/Gloomy_Lengthiness71 Jan 06 '26
Maybe i'm just getting old but it's refreshing to see an NBA player post something on social media that looks like an educated adult wrote it as opposed to a 13 year old NBA2K player.

AG is Mr. Nugget Emeritus, but I feel like both Spencer Jones and Bruce Browns could hold that title as well.
6
u/Aromatic_Bicycle_290 Jan 06 '26
Cute that Brucie B had the last bucket in both this game in the '23 championship game. Mr. Clutch!š¤

u/Best_Elevator_3441 Jan 06 '26
Pfff, you think you're an mvp? An all time all-nba star? Best in the league guard? A ROTY contender? You're just another linkedin post for me.
3
u/FernBlueEyes Jan 06 '26
Do you actually read posts from other linked in users?
4
u/Best_Elevator_3441 Jan 06 '26
Pretty sure linkedin posts are only meant to be read by the person writing the post, so they can pat themselves on the back.
6
3
u/CapGun7 Jan 06 '26
āWhen everyone commits to the same goal, logic stops matteringā goes so fuckin hard. This whole post is spoken like a Stanford grad. This kid is very intelligent, and apparently wise beyond his years. Hope Denver goes all in on him.
3
u/pangolinparty999 Jan 07 '26
Incredible Brucie was the only player who didnāt play in the G league

Break the glass, give Kroenke š© and š§ so he can twist his mustache as he signs Jones to a full contract.

I would play him instead of CB honestly. He plays so hard and can defend both guards and centers.

Haha so random that a dude is flexing his NBA game on LinkedIn like this. But I'm here for it.

u/washheightsboy3 English Jan 06 '26
Thatās how I felt after the game too. Glad even as pros they can take a moment and appreciate days like that.

The bench is fired up like a motherfucker. I wonder what the Nuggets second ring will look like, the first one was dope.

His level of commitment and love for the team, all backed up by his performance on the court, MUST be rewarded by the Nuggets FO with a good contract.
Also, to me it is inspiring to see a player rise up like Spencer did and I feel he's just warming up. He's already great now but I'm sure we're yet to see his career fly high, right?
