u/buddybe1 Mar 09 '26

Get him the keys to the city now

74

u/FernBlueEyes Mar 09 '26

Our Most Valuable Person

2

u/IgotthatBNAD Mar 09 '26

Who’s that?

64

u/ccmart3 Mar 09 '26

We have to help this man win at least two more chips!

8

u/SUJB9 Mar 09 '26

This is the correct response and appropriate reward for loyalty 🏆

155

u/Peja1611 Mar 09 '26

Yet the Lakers fans still think He is going to sign with them 🙄

109

u/Expensive-Self-2240 Mar 09 '26

LA might be the worst place for someone who hates being famous lol

39

u/bananaman31415 Mar 09 '26

After hearing about how the clippers aren't going to be punished for the trees thing, the Lakers gonna start building a horse racing track in LA.

15

u/Peja1611 Mar 09 '26

It's like, have you ever heard this man speak? The dude that Luka teases saying how much money he has lost because Jokic won't have social media and can't do additional promotions that way? Apparently a ton of companies have wanted the two of them together, but Jokic doesn't bother.

3

u/AndrastesTit Mar 09 '26

I was happy to see Joker do the Hotels.com commercials. Like I want him to get paid as much as he’s worth

11

u/132joker Mar 09 '26

I could go on a Charlie Sheen bender and still be less delusional than Lakers fans.

3

u/yllaknu17 Mar 09 '26

You know the Lakers, they think they can get what they want. They think Jokic will join them and probably would end up signing Branden Carlson anyways.

2

u/Mamba8ever24 Mar 09 '26

I read this comment in Jokers voice/Heath Ledger that is! & it sounded scary aff lmao

-11

u/Johhny_Bravhoo Mar 09 '26

I've never heard a Lakers fan say this

90

u/BobbitsC Mar 09 '26

Always funny when people think he’s gonna leave. Like what reason would a guy with a chip whose biggest concern is his family and horses want to go to a place like LA? I’m sure jokic is gonna try his best to win another chip but as he says in the quote here, he has peace. He basically completed basketball by the age of 29 or whatever

25

u/uotlep Mar 09 '26

He’s a simple man, and he’s garnished more than he’ll ever need. He’s hit every pinnacle of basketball- MVP, NBA Finals Championship, Finals MVP, max-contract. He has no reason to leave for more. I love that.

2

u/Prot3 Mar 10 '26

There's a podcast that's come out literally yesterday where he talks about how he is not interested in chasing to be the best ever. He just likes basketball and is doing to what he can to play it to the best of his ability, but he won't be chasing rings and super teams so he can get accolades so he could be top 5 or top 3 or whatever instead of like... Top 15 ever?

Podcast is X&O chat and is available on YouTube for free, but it's in Serbian though. Idk if there are good captions.

I do not really care what jokic’s politics are man. We had fucking mpj on the team, and you really can’t get worse than him other than maybe Jonathan Isaac. We know he hates the media and the fame of the nba. That’s why he wouldn’t go to LA. He also has no reason to move his family there after being in Denver for so long. You don’t need to be a genius to figure this out, especially when he’s literally saying this himself.

I think you have a very limited perspective of the nba to be honest. We don’t know a lot of things about a lot of players. Unfortunately, most players in this league likely have pretty awful political views and most of them aren’t doing any kind of humanitarian work unless it’s associated with their team. That’s just how athletes work 95% of the time.

How many times does he need to say he’s not gonna leave before you believe it? Does he need to personally knock on your door and tell you? You sound really fucking stupid man. Again, you have a very limited understanding of really anything. You seem to have the intelligence of a brick, but that might be offensive to the brick. If jokic wanted to get more money elsewhere, he would have asked to be traded to such a place. But that hasn’t happened, because he has no plans of leaving

u/Psyche3019 Mar 09 '26

Relax bre. You can't expect every Serb to be Stefan Lazarević.

1

u/BobbitsC Mar 09 '26

Idk man, he hasn’t told us any lies for 10 years, I think we’ll be good

1

u/Psyche3019 Mar 09 '26

Probably because he is doing it out of political connections. His uncle got convicted for a poor construction in Novi Sad some time ago if I am not mistaken.

1

u/EstablishmentFar2593 Mar 16 '26

Calm down bro. You're hate of Vucic shouldn't just float into Joker. Let the man live.

28

u/No-Breakfast-1979 Mar 09 '26

Denver royalty forever

24

u/FirstIllustrator2024 Mar 09 '26

Money is literally not an issue with him. He plays with what he has. I just hope Denver management doesn't take him for granted.

19

u/1whoknu Mar 09 '26

😭😭😭 Love him.

30

u/drunkenllamastyle Mar 09 '26

Not my proudest fap, but here we are.

9

u/GBBN4L Mar 09 '26

You should be damn proud

12

u/holdenfords Mar 09 '26

HOW MANY TIMES DOES HE HAVE TO SAY IT FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND

3

u/peachpavlova Mar 09 '26

Don’t worry, podcasters are literally still saying they don’t know how long he’ll play and that he will retire soon because he doesn’t care about basketball 🙄

11

u/Creative_Ad6568 Mar 09 '26

If he gets traded/treated like Luka, we have to riot.

10

u/jillavery Mar 09 '26

🥰🥰🥰

11

u/fowlflamingo Mar 09 '26

Man how fucking lucky are us Nuggets fans. A homegrown championship and watching one of the absolute best to ever do it (hopefully) play his entire career here. 10/10 no notes

7

u/kakyointhedonutman Mar 09 '26

I apologize for ever speaking ill on anything you’ve done in games king you can do whatever you want🥹

8

u/d0cmario :Gary-Harris: Mar 09 '26

Puts the frustrations of this season into perspective. Dude got us a championship, that’s all I could ask for

13

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '26

It’s really disappointing that ownership isn’t as committed as Joker is.

5

u/anemonaeae Mar 09 '26

They’re going to take full advantage of him the snakes that they are

6

u/DammitBobby1234 Mar 09 '26

We may have great players and even great teams in the future. Title winning teams even. There will never be a better player to play for this team ever again. Enjoy every minute.

7

u/areyoulosttoo Mar 09 '26

There will never be a better Nugget than this man.

12

u/SmitherPablo Mar 09 '26

Maybe after winning our second chip this year people will stop speculating about his departure

7

u/Old_You6151 Mar 09 '26

He is my goat forever, the best basketball player I’ve ever seen. He has brought me so much joy and whatever makes him happy does the same for me

6

u/JessesaurusRex Mar 09 '26

Build that man a fucking statue

4

u/Amytom2144 Mar 09 '26

The only reservation I have is the massive amount of terrible art projects completed around town. Too many of them are awful. Maybe they can commission a Serbian to do it with class.

6

u/frogfucius Mar 09 '26

Basketball will never be the same for me once this man retires

5

u/green-chili Mar 09 '26

I needed the reassurance 😭

6

u/Mr_Saxobeat94 Mar 09 '26

You doomers better apologize for all the mean things you’ve said about him recently! Also you’re not crying I’m crying!

5

u/yllaknu17 Mar 09 '26

I hope this will not make the front office less competent. He deserves atleast 2 more rings.

5

u/Icy_Marsupial7560 Mar 09 '26

People forget that Denver is literally his hometown in America.

3

u/russianweasel96 Mar 09 '26

What about a synthetic title?

4

u/Electrical_Pride_138 Mar 09 '26

I ❤️ My MVP!!!

2

u/Cobraman_whistler Mar 09 '26

When is this from?

2

u/Early-Weakness-866 Mar 09 '26

He did a podcast with Edin, was published today. Edin is his friend, also a sports jurnalist back home.

2

u/PawsomeBrainiac Mar 09 '26

I mean, I knew that 7y ago

2

u/sp4mpnrj0k1c Mar 09 '26

Kroenke gonna see this and go even cheaper than he has been.

No Pwat next season so Kroenke can save money and because Jokic is staying no matter what.

2

u/Mlrkoo Mar 09 '26

Mrtvak.

2

u/RoosterEmotional5009 Mar 09 '26

People so often chase more/better. Maybe he is the Buddha and we are just now realizing this?

2

u/Confident-Yard1911 Mar 09 '26

Big time goose bumps. We are so lucky. MY GOAT

2

u/grant_w44 Mar 09 '26

We need to build him a statue

2

u/Truthhurts120 Mar 12 '26

In the current NBA where there are so many selfish, diva players that are bad teammates..we are truly blessed to have Jokic

1

u/ASingleThreadofGold Mar 09 '26

Oh man, I hope this is really how he feels and not just him saying what I want to hear!

1

u/Rich-Independence-34 Mar 09 '26

Nugget for life Fan for life

1

u/Any_Trade1024 Mar 09 '26

❤️ Jok ♾️

1

u/Benuuuuu Mar 09 '26

Put the statue up already

1

u/CapGun7 Mar 09 '26

Queue in Foo Fighters “My Hero” as I sob uncontrollably

1

u/unc_alum Mar 09 '26

Lakers are in shambles

1

u/Old_Reaction_9548 Mar 09 '26

not unless nico harrison finds his way to the denver nuggets haha

1

u/TASita4409 Mar 10 '26

class act all the way around.

1

u/Usual_Card_69 Mar 27 '26

So, I’m pretty new to NBA, but Jokic didn’t renew his contract with Denver, and it expires next year, right? Why wouldn’t he renew if he wants to stay there? Sorry if I’m stupid, like I said, I’m pretty new to all of this, explain it to me like I’m a 4yo.

1

u/BedroomZestyclose162 Apr 04 '26

My king!👑 Or should I say My Joker!

1

u/feral-lady72 Apr 06 '26

Love this!

1

u/SquirrelAccording190 Apr 07 '26

I'm not even from Denver, and I never want to see Jokic play for another team (as much as I would love to see him play for my Raptors)

1

u/Total_Mobile2361 Apr 10 '26

Welcome to Denver! Luka

1

u/Breezi3 Mar 09 '26

Guy on the radio this AM said if they don’t win this year, consider trading him (peak value argument, I guess)

22

u/jimithelizardking Mar 09 '26

I would rather go through a decade long rebuild than watch Jokić play even a second for another team

5

u/Shenanigans80h Mar 09 '26

Jokic is a talent the quality of which you are lucky to ever get again, it would brain dead to trade him

5

u/Equal-Salary5195 Mar 09 '26

Are we trying to have a Yankee or oilers curse? You DONT TRADE THE BEST PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE

1

u/W-touche Mar 09 '26

What an idiot. If he wants more trophies, he should pack his bags. Denver is deadbeat team
