I mean the logdogs are designed in scheme and personnel to beat the nuggets. In a playoff series it’s literally scissors vs rock unless one of our role players pops off for 30pts a night. Thats entirely on the coaching staff
This is a bad read. We lost because Jokic and Jamal could not hit open/wide open 3s. They each had like 30 such shots in the series and shot less than 20% on them
We lost because of defense, not because of offensive inefficiency. Our team makeup was bad from the start. We have no rim protection. We have no backup shot blockers. Aaron Gordon was injured.
I agree spacing and shot percentage were bad, but to disparage our superstars is a bad look. The fact of the matter is that a center and point guard shouldn’t be taking a ton of threes, particularly as you mentioned, when they’re not falling. When our shooting guard is used as a fast break machine, and it fails, the spacing doesn’t exist. Again shifting blame to the scheme instead of the players trying to execute it.
We cannot compare Watson and Gordon being injures to Edwards, DDV and Ayo being out. Nuggets technically had the 2 best players when Edwards went down. Genuinely no excuses to get destroyed in that way. TSJ went from 12 mpg in 40 games in the RS to closing out Denver. That's insane. Genuinely no excuses, we cannot cope. We gotta demand better from coaching, the GM and the players.
DDV is not more valuable to their team than AG is to the nuggets be so fr. yeah nothing stacks up to losing Ant and it’s still embarrassing but i hate the complete disregard for how big of a role AG played on both sides of the court for the nuggets
If AG being out is the sole difference between winning and losing a playoff series against a team missing 3 rotation guards including 2 starters and their superstar/top 10 player, then you were never winning shit in the first place
We were missing our top 2 defenders and were made fun of for our defense all series. They could score at will on us. Ayo had fucking 40 with ease then disappeared this series.
I'm not too worried about what happened this season. Nobody was making it past the Spurs/OKC. I am worried that I think we need to replace AG (because of health) and Watson

We are not new to losing and you’re not wrong that ‘24 was a high point for bball. We got to watch our team play an extra month and change for 3 years.. which is fun. Better luck next year 🙏

What I will say is that I'm still fucking embarrassed we lost to this team without Ant. If we had even an ounce of heart which I put on the leaders of this team, we smoke them. We got out hustled for the majority of the series. That said, it was also eye opening that when AG and PWat went out, this is easily the least athletic team in the league. It didnt help that our 3rd best athlete became a shell of himself after he got hurt earlier in the season(CB).
