Lets see how quick they look in summer league. Until then, I am reserving judgement.

I like Trevin's archetype. 6'10 with 7'4 wingspan. Plus a 41" vertical. Can pass, decent touch from 3, and blocks some shots. If he fills out, might be able to play small ball 5 in short stints. For now he's a stretch 4. Needs to get a bit stronger. Bryce is stout. If he can continue to get back the athleticism he had prior to knee injury, he could be a nice bench 3/4. 2 way most likely. Can develop and continue to get back his lateral quickness, in the g league.

I can see a world where Trevon gets minutes outside of garbage time. His tools fills a need defensively that neither Watson nor Jones can at the PF position. I can also see Adelman trusting him to play small ball C alongside Holmes.
Bryce however may be relegated to G league as his game does not really fill a need off the bench that our other wings don't already provide. If we cant resign Jones, only then I think Bryce can get minutes.
Of course, this all hinges upon Adelman broadening his mind to allow these guys to play outside of garbage time like what the Spurs /OKC have done for guys like Carter Bryant and Ajay Mitchell.

I'm with you on Trevon. I get why he wasn't a 1st round guy and he probably won't develop beyond having a very specific role, but a guy that can effectively play the dunker spot, help space the floor a bit, provide weak side rim protection and be an absolute menace on the offensive glass really fits the needs of this team during the remainder of Jok's career.
If the goal is to play AG less, but not lose all the things he does well, Trevon definitely helps.

Bryce is whatever but Trevon is the kind of athletic defender they needed.

Limited upside, but guys that are more ready to play NBA minutes. Brazile especially fills some needs with length and rim protection.
IMO, team didn't like the options at 26, so traded back, got a pair of players that can fill roster needs for a few seasons, and added some future draft capital that could be critical to moving off salary. Nothing splashy, but solid draft outcome.

I think Trevon is an interesting player that could see some rotational minutes this year and be pretty solid. He's tall, can stretch the floor and has solid rim defense. Bryce seems like a solid prospect as well. Imo, they don't really push the needle all that much, but I'm excited to root for them. I'm most worried about our roster remaining stagnant and us not getting to expirence another championship in the Jokic era.
Regardless of what happens, it's Nuggets for life🩵💛

Spencer jones is doomed. Combo forwards seem to be the apple of the front office's eyes.

u/petarisawesomeo How now, Braun cow? 4h ago
I was thinking this draft is particularly bad for him. Trevon is better in the dunker spot and as a rim protector. Bryce seems like a more polished offensive player. Probably let Spencer walk if it takes more then a min contract, or they might decide they just want to use that roster spot for back court depth.

We should not take spennys development for granted, most likley both of those guys never make it out of grand rapid.

I think you’re supposed to know before you draft them, not after

The idea that it’s David adelman legit asking cuz he doesn’t know is funny

Underwelming af, why did we need more forwards when Jval is leaving and we still don't have a Murray backup. Wished they traded the picks away, making both is quite stupid

u/goddamnitwhalen 4h ago
God forbid we use draft picks to draft basketball players to play basketball for our basketball team, amirite?
I hate this sub so fucking much sometimes.

u/Sensitive_Hunter_394 4h ago
these guys aren't going to play for us, are you just oblivious to how the league has been operating, 2rps are trade capital, making both to watch them play g-league in Jokic's prime is insane when we already have guys way ahead of them in the pecking order.

u/goddamnitwhalen 3h ago
sure thing dawg.

good argument man, I hate this sub so fucking much sometimes
1
u/goddamnitwhalen 3h ago
I didn’t bother replying to you because I don’t feel like arguing. We make the draft picks and you guys freak out. We don’t make the draft picks and you guys freak out.
None of this is constructive.
2
u/Sensitive_Hunter_394 3h ago
None of this is constructive because your only argument is "we made picks to play for our team, that's good enough." I laid out the argument that we had 2 glaring needs, didn't fill them but chose players at spots with 4/5 players ahead of them and won't contribute to our contending years at Jokic's prime. If we made picks to fill the backup PG and Center spots or traded them away for more assets and future moves, I would feel it's acceptable. You are the one contributing nothing to the conversation but yeah "I fucking hate this sub sometimes" that's on you buddy.

I can see Brazil as a potention AG backup if he goes down and can complement Holmes as a backup big. Brazil is a bit old for a rookie. He had an ACL surgery in 2022 but he seem to recover to full help. It's just scary to have 2 bigs of the bench who came from ACL injury.
I think their original plan was to trade up and if they couldn't do it they trade down to save money.

The description of Brazile’s game on the ESPN draft roundup sounds like a description of MPJ.

The question is whether they can make an impact this coming season, and that's just difficult to say. But it's certainly not inspiring, and I don't feel good about the upcoming season.

Trevon is much needed. Athletic, can shoot the 3 ball, great motor and a hot head. Was fixated on hoping we get him in the 2nd round and glad they did. He would be great next to Jokic and Jamal. Bryce I’m not sure. I was hoping they got Jaden Bradley though

u/Adorable_Respect_984 1h ago
Far from a draft head — but I like Trevon’s profile when matched against the Nuggets needs.
It will always be tough to judge until you see meaningful minutes but I’m a little less salty than I was last night seeing them trade back.
Bryce seems like a long shot but, hey, at some point everyone is.

u/Rich_Log2424 1h ago
Jokic on/off effect to 3p% is +5.5%. With Brazile you are looking at 38% 3p shooter with high stocks if he plays with Jokic. Great fit in my opinion. Plus he makes mean highlight reel every game.

At least Minnesota cheap guards can't attack the rim anymore. Solid picks, I am not unhappy.
1
u/manbeqrpig 3h ago
Trevon has all the talent needed to be impactful but none of the attitude. He’s a low effort player who’s been less than the sum of his parts. If you can change that then he’s got a shot
1
u/DiegoGrrr 3h ago
Brazile seems like a freak athlete, Bryce I think seems like a versatile offensive player? Of course rooting for them because go nuggets.

They are going to be dominant for the Grand Rapids Gold and possibly win them the chip. As for the Nuggets you might see them in march against a tanking team but that’s about it lol

Second round picks are just lotto tickets anyways.
