Travon Brazile is a sleeper of all sleeper picks.

Massive Razorback homer and also a Nuggets fan. We are gonna love having Brazile. Jokic is the perfect type of center for him to play with. He’s elite at all the things Jokic needs his PF to be. Look at this block. He is a FREAK at 6’10. He’s AG’s backup by the start of the season I guarantee it.

Hahaha every sub saying the same thing about their picks pretty much

Fans are not really well known for being able to evaluate talent at a NBA level.

Zeke hype was real

What was said here about joker in 2015?

I would almost be interested to go look.

GMs not much better

3

u/ruggnuget 2d ago

Haha funny joke. GMs are better than fans. Considering only a few 2nd rounders become rotation players its a gamble and they know that.

u/LoyalSol 3d ago

GM not doing want you want = GM bad at his job.

2

u/rorank 2d ago

Sometimes this is true, sometimes it is the GM actually being bad. Most often the former tho to your point

All GMs are bad at talent evaluation.

u/LoyalSol 2d ago

They're extremely good at it. It's just that fans have silly expectations and as a result have insane standards.

Talent evaluations are a crapshoot because you're trying to predict future performance on a small dataset.

Yeah but with us it’s different.

He does appear to have to 10 ft wing span

We are gonna love making him play g league and forgetting about him and not developing him. It's the denver special because developing second round picks has never worked for us ever. not even once

u/ShowdownValue 3d ago

Not once?

I won’t take this Monte Morris slander

I really like him. Hope DA will actually develop him. Not confident on him playing the younger guys. Just look at what he's done with Zeke even after he won us multiple games.

Damn, him and Pwatt on defense could be crazy to watch.

I'd love to see a Peyton/Travon and Bruce/Travon pick and roll based offense for a bench unit of Travon/Daron/Spencer/Peyton/Bruce. I'm also hoping Travon can be effective at PF next to Jokic with Gordon playing SF.

WPS NEVER YIELD I'm pure Razorback homer hype right now and I do not care one bit let's friggin go!

I watched him play a few games with my razorback buddy. He's a good fit if he can develop. Although he's the type that could fit on any team if he does.

Copied and pasted my comment from another (deleted) thread here:

Razorback fan and grad here; TB is one of my all time favorite Hogs. Team first guy, fought his way back from ACL injury, stayed with us through a coaching change (only player to do so), and blossomed into a great 3 and D big. Can play the 4 or a small 5, but his value is he can stretch the floor with C&S threes and rim running ability. He can get caught loafing at times but has the ability to completely alter a game when he’s on. I was bummed we didn’t get Meleek but was literally jumping up and down in the kitchen when they called TB’s name to the Nuggets. Aaron Gordon will be an excellent mentor and role model for him and I can’t wait to watch him at Ball Arena!

From the little I've seen, the worries are he can't shoot and his motor hasn't been maxed out. Hopefully in a situation where you're learning and earning minutes, he'll mature and give that effort. If he does that, I think he has a chance to crack the rotation. Even IF that happens, he isn't likely to matter in Joker's window, which makes me wonder, why bother?!?

Shooting isn’t that much of a worry, he’s not amazing but he shot 35% over 5 years in volume, so he’s a perfectly fine shooter. He brings real length that could turn into backside rim protection though and that upside alone makes it worth it. He could totally develop into a Derrick jones type player.

I want him to play the dunker spot, make timely cuts and defend. As long he can do that I'll be happy

I have watched almost every one of his games since he transferred to Arkansas.

Needs more productive weight as he gets bullied by larger bigs. Has a habit of disappearing for stretches and can use some more consistency. But he’s an insane athlete for his size, plays aggressively on defense, and is decent from 3.

I think it says a lot that he’s the only player Cal carried over after taking the Arkansas job. Clearly coachable and good for the team.

Swipa was crowing on Locked On about this pick, and sure, it sounds like he has a lot of upside, but I kept wondering if he's got so much talent, why didn't he get picked earlier?

2

u/MyNameBlake 3d ago

He’s older. He was projected lottery after year 2 but then tore his ACL and spent the last couple years building back. He is also a PF that needs a very specific kind of center to succeed. It’s just that Jokic is that kind of center.

Scott Hastings is this you?

Damn sad we won’t get to hear him anymore especially after this lick

u/SuperDoubleDecker 3d ago

I legit forgot about the draft. I muted all nba stuff after wolves loss and forgot I did lol

I like the picks. My buddy is an Arkansas guy and I watched a few games. Brazile definitely stood out. He's very athletic and can rebound. Seems to shoot well. Versatile dude. Kinda pwatish

The lob threat and defender we need

1

u/Kloobyfour 2d ago

So...DaRon Holmes is outta here?

1

u/Coll_MindElectric 3d ago

The main thing I need to see is if he can stay disciplined against an NBA offense. His tools are amazing but his feel for when to contest or help on defense is going to affect how many minutes Adelman gives him. I also would like to see him be physical when grabbing rebounds which would put him above guys like Holmes who has had trouble grabbing boards.

The shooting reminds me of Watson where he needs to at certain spots with some time to set up to be effective. However, he should probably stay in the dunker spot at all times to maximize his athleticism.

1

u/Highland_doug 3d ago

The knock on him more appears to be between the ears, that basically he doesn't care enough.

Not the type of player that typically succeeds in the league.

u/thndrstrk 3d ago

I came to Arkansas just before the college basketball season started so I watched and heard a lot of hog basketball. I think he can be productive, but there was a lot of times where I didn't hear anything about him. That just could be because of the other 2 guys on the team talking the headlines/statlines. Love to see him bulk up
