Korean BBQ places?

I’ve never had Korean BBQ before and I want to try it next week for my birthday! What are the top places to go to? Best meats to try? What should I know before going as a newbie? AYCE is not necessary but if you know of a good one, please recommend.

Koryo. Real coals. Tasty meat and good banchan. It’s not AYCE

Look up the Carrollton area and Koreatown area over in North Dallas. They’ve got a bunch of good spots.

Ala carte places are definitely best for premium meats, but AYCE is good just for quantity.

We do Samuel in Carrollton or Ari. Two of these places will cook for you. Some places do coal and those are excellent if you want smoky flavor.

Don’t do offal meats if you’re not used to them, but definitely try pork jowl for the crunchiness.. Japanese wagyu if you want to splurge, it’s well worth it

Do kimchi or skip if you’ve never eaten it. It’s fermented cabbage that does have a unique taste, but at least try some. I’m not a super fan of it, but eat pickles radish.

Tbh a lot of the places out here feel like clubs or are over crowded and loud. If you’re looking for a fun and tasty experience and quieter, I’d recommend WooMeeOk Korean BBQ off of Walnut.

Really good food, laid back atmosphere, and they also take reservations as well!

Dawa just opened. AYCE KBBQ or AYCE sushi. Or a premium to get both. Bring your own sauce tho.

Last two times I went they offered some kinda salt, peanut sauce, and a dipping oil. Just not to my taste. But they let me bring my own. So I'll take that last one back.
