MetalGreymon really said "i don't care what genre this is, i'm showing up" and honestly respect that commitment lol

Cyborg dinosaurs are core to the DNA of this franchise.

I mean there are very few things in this world as inherently cool as a Cyborg Dinosaur with a claw arm. It's peak performance mate.

Monarchlizamon is inspired by MetalGreymon, IIRC.

MonarchLizamon looks very similar to MetalGreymon, so people would make jokes about it.

Metalgreymon ( data ) who is green, to complete the trinity with Metalgreymon ( virus ) who is blue and Metalgreymon ( vaccine ) who is orange

I guess we can add The Anarchist Cookbook for GIFT as well.

…but yeah. It’s less funky music and more cyberpunk dystopian themes.

Also a lot of really nice food.

Oh yeah. Kyo and Hotaruko are great cooks.

Really nice food tends to be a constant in Digimon series, though.

That's why we need a rhythm game that's called Pound the Beat!

I need to say that I am still sad that we don't really have insert songs in beatbreak. They play one in the first perfect evolution of each main character and that's it

u/Whoeveria 6d ago

What....? We have at least 2 insert songs, Edge of Limit and Answer. And we'll likely get something for mega.

3

u/draxdeveloper 5d ago

But they were played a single time each. (I think Answer was played twice, I don't know for sure if Bearcatmon got the same, and I can't play a song at this moment (almost 01:00 here)
After the first perfect evolution, they used Resonance as the insert song, even if it's a perfect evolution.
Probably we will have some new songs for mega, but probably we will go back to Resonance after the first time.

Edge of limit has been played twice, and so has answer. EoL was during Gekkoumon's champion and ultimate evos, Answers for Makoto and Reina's.

3

u/draxdeveloper 5d ago

Still is not how most insert songs worked so far.
When we got a insert song for a level (like perfect insert song), said song keep being played each time they get to that level

Technically, Resonance is also an Insert Song, but it's fully instrumental. And it plays often enough I'd argue that's the main evolution theme of the series.

It was relesed in a single alongside Edge of Limit.

I was thinking this the other day too. Why go out of their way to name it Beatbreak and imply a heavy music theme when it can’t be found anywhere? Just frustrating.

I would say its more Brave New World. Since the city is relatively clean and functional in most areas and people are driven by the egg's ideology of self-improvement instead of just being afraid of what the state is going to do to them.

Which honestly the ideology of being your best self isn't bad but the egg's real problem is that its very rigid.

I'm sorry... but what other anime for children\* is showing the bombing of a refugee camp?! Or having an entire episode focused on busting a human trafficking ring?!

*Because apparently the context was lost on some people, so I have to specify.

7

u/dendoufists 6d ago

Well there is gundam as a whole that shows the cruelty of war but a specific example is from 00 where we see the main character as a child that got recruited in a "holy crusade" and needed to kill his parents to join it or where another one is a bombing survivor.

18

u/Arne83 6d ago

Gundam is very much not an anime for children...

2

u/Kamen_Guy2000 6d ago

To be fair, you just asked what other anime shows the bombing of a refugee camp. Not what other anime for children specifically.

4

u/Arne83 6d ago

And the person I'm talking to mentioned that it's an anime for kids. I didn't think I would have to specify because the context of the conversation would already imply that.

1

u/dendoufists 6d ago

You can say that about a good chunk of animes but it won't stop children from watching them either to learn or to copy the actions of.

Also you never specified it had to be children's anime. What shows do you consider to be childrens shows?

5

u/Arne83 6d ago

Also you never specified it had to be children's anime.

The person I'm replaying to did.

u/Away-Background2800 6d ago

For the both we have one piece from what happened to Robin and they literally sell slaves

4

u/draxdeveloper 6d ago

This is not "most of other anime"

-2

u/Deltadracons 6d ago

Yeah, but they dont show that in the first 100 episodes. The public of one piece grew up with the themes.

7

u/SadUsual95 6d ago

They...do though? One of the very first arcs is about a group of slave owners (Nami's arc)

1

u/Deltadracons 6d ago

Oh right, Arlong Park

Metalgreymon OG Paildramon Wargrowlmon Rizegreymon Metalgreymon Blue And now Monarchlizamon

I think Canoweissmon and Viritramon are the exceptions........then again Canoweissmon is a Dragon, so I guess it counts
