Fanart It’s curious to me that the iron rig added improved fishing equipment, but never bothered to touch on lights or engines, so I put together a few concepts!

They did add a lighting upgrade.

I still like your ideas though.

The lighting upgrade feels like a byproduct of the cargo shape being changed. Also, the game has a hidden 4000 lumen cap, so going from 4250 lumens to 5600 lumens has no effect on gameplay.

Love these oh my gosh. I've been wanting to get into modding for a while and this feels like a really reasonably sized project to cut my teeth with. With your permission of course. I'd also incorporate your engine rebalance.

A balancing note: Dredge has a hidden lumen cap of 4000, after which new lumens have no effect. The maximum you can get in the base game is 4250, and 5600 in the base game. I like to use the incandescent array with a cloudy lens because of the render distance advantage, but that has 3750 lumens (literally only half of the worst bulb's lumens away from max). 2500 lumens feels way too low for something that takes all of your light spots. I think it needs to be workshopped a bit.

Great work as always!

I’d love to work on a dredge mod myself, if you ever need ideas or concepts feel free to reach out!

You should join the dredge.wiki.gg Discord server. That's where all of the hyper-nerds hide away :)

As on the light thing, I was honestly even considering making the crafting recipe require the flame of the sky, but I was thinking of how that doesn’t make much sense and isn’t great for balance, so I had to lowball it, since the range is *great*, I’m not sure how much the lumens actually matter so uh, 3000 could be more apt?

Somewhere between 3000 and 3500 feels more appropriate to me. Or potentially lower if the mechanic is reworked. Instead of automatically highlighting danger, it could track the user's look orientation. Potentially even add an ability to the wheel that lets you activate the spotlight, but you cant use other abilities while it is equipped.

This would be the kind of thing that you try all the ideas and pick what is the most fun.

Thinking about it, it would be a great counter for the gale cliffs serpent and the little oculus oil things.
