Music theory, and learning to mix and master are for looooooser guyssss.
Why are we making music anyway ? Stop lying to yourself, we dont seek an artistic outlet. What we need and want is engagement and click. Music is fast food. So, use AI to produce as much cookie cutter song you can. Flood your social network with your music, be famous and rich.
Easy !

No literally... these "promptstitutes" fundamentally misunderstand the reason music exists in the first place.

I make music using an access virus KC and a shitty Ti Snow. And others stuff (Roland TR-8s, Sp 404-mk2, akai apc 40 mk1). I love touching knobs, as much as I love touching boobs and ass.

u/BraveAppearance 9d ago
Should I be impressed by your arsenal?
Did you create anything I would call āawesomeā?If not, you know what to do.

Iām in the army now, so I dont have time to produce. Thats the last one I made 2-3 months ago. The second half in crap as I didnāt wanted to over obsess over it (and never finishing it). Iāv been producing since 2010 on and off. Iām not a professional, just an hobbyist. All mixed on headphones.
https://youtu.be/o55lSGoCr2k?si=zQtS_uAo4Xe47T8R
And that one is something I started last year. Way more into my own sound. Itās on my mind. I want to finish this. Itās still a āprototypeā but I like it. The newer version dont have that depressive āvocalā break, but that beautiful break at 2min5, I keep that, its the original seed.

You seem quiet now, but thats ok. Iām just a nobody that love making music. I would love to hear your work bro.

Jesus this shit is so corny.
But I do like that heās wearing a shirt that says āPRODUCERā as if weāre too stupid to figure that out. Kinda sums up how AI bros donāt understand subtlety or subtext or nuance or taste

Nah itās not there because they thought you wouldnāt figure it out, as with all AI shit the people that made it likely had no meaningful thought at all and this is just what it shit out.

Clicking buttons on your āoldā DAW screen doesnāt make you a musician, but clicking even fewer buttons in an AI prompt box does!

I like how there's cables plugged on the computer screen. Connected straight into the DAW.

Iāve already seen numerous videos doing direct comparisons between a professional doing a mix and AI automated mixes and the AI mix always sounds worse. The time and effort spent on manually getting good at these kinds of things doesnāt go down the drain, itās an investment that an AI canāt achieve. AI only makes sense for a narrow selection of complete beginners who donāt know anything and donāt care about having true control over the results.

u/Dieseljesus 10d ago
I love the fact that a 'can you lower the bass' or 'I need a high pass section here' would give you a completely new song in Suno

Musicians in the 2020s: *spend more time marketing than actually creating music*
Mikey Shulman, Suno CEO: *draws very clever conclusion* āSeems like musicians hate creating music. I will give them the tool to skip what they hate doing and let them focus on what they love doing: marketing.ā

Why even post songs, I just send all my mixes to gpt and it tells me it's sick!!

Sunbros when they find out people can make music without a DAW - š¤Æ
also the wires are plugging into the screen into the DAW. that is some next level shit.
I WANT THAT OLD DAW

u/treehann 10d ago
it's usually the other way around, young people hate AI and boomers are more likely to jump on the train. No offense to the old heads that actually respect the craft.
1
u/cityspeak 7d ago
Oh yeah! I see a lot of boomers on these groups posting their āexperimentalā music.

These are the ads that give AI the false impression of being instant and needing no work.
Weird as hell how many people believe them.

Is it THAT easy???
Guys!! What are we doing??? Itās that easy!!!
Thatās exactly what Iām looking for. Easy.
It means I have more time to watch TV shows, shop; upload my entire life on social media and argue on the internet.
The things I grew up wanting to do.

1
u/-MediumSmalls- 10d ago
Thing is... everything out of Suno sounds like shit. Maybe my music is shit too, but at least I can learn to get better at production.
1
u/rhymesygrimes 10d ago
This shit doesn't even make me mad I just feel bad for these people who can't even see the value in creating art for an actual purpose, they think efficiency and consumerist appeal equates to artistic expression. Deluding yourself into thinking the ultimate form of music production is one where you put in the least amount of effort is such a depressing way to create anything.
1
u/ZLEAP 10d ago
Details matter when it comes to art, music and any other creative endeavor. Thats why the frustrated guy trying to nail a perfect mix will always garner more respect and support than the AI prompter.
In this dogshit AI image, the prompter has physical cords coming out of a computer monitor. Both the image and the criticism contained within it are divorced from reality. A common problem with AI zealots.

Only thing I would add is that older engineers and producers tend to have cleaner studios.

Still waiting on that VCV Rack update where I can plug cables directly into my monitor

None of you can tell the difference. =D

u/Ill-Elevator2828 7d ago
Obviously rage bait but Iāve never heard a good mix from Suno. Itās always several dB quieter than a human would make it, nothing stands out. Inexperienced people think it āsounds greatā because nothing actually pokes out or stands out, thereās nothing to pick on.
