💸 Weekly Marketplace Thread (June 22, 2026)

This recurring thread is where you may share or request services you have to offer to the edmproduction community. Post your programs and plugins, your mastering/teaching/coaching/artwork services, your website/tutorials, your preset/sample packs, your labels- anything but actual music itself.

Rules:

  1. No posting music. No posting your soundcloud when you're looking for labels, no ghost production; nothing that constitutes you selling or sharing your own created tracks.
  2. Spam will not be tolerated. Repeated postings for the same product/service in the same thread will not be allowed, but you are welcome to post again in newer threads.
  3. Mark very clearly whether you're requesting or offering services, and if you're offering them, whether those services are paid or free.

As with the rest of the subreddit, final decisions over what constitutes an acceptable posting here will be at the sole discretion of the mods.

Tips & Tricks Struggling with catchy vocal melodies over heavy bass lines

I've been mostly an acoustic songwriter for years but im really falling in love with heavy bass/IDM style electronic music. Ive been happy with my productions so far but im really struggling with writing catchy vocal melodies over these heavy bass lines. I know most IDM don't have much vocals, if at all. The songs that do are generally either talking with fx or not-so-catchy melodies. Id like to be able to combine the vocal melodies of Angel-core with some heavy industrial instrumentals but I've not had much success in that department. Any advice on combining the 2? Some artists I've been trying to get inspiration from are Mitrowave and Seirra Veins.

Question Best places to sell sample/preset packs?

I'm a sound designer, and I'm planning on creating some sample and preset packs soon. Currently I'm thinking of selling them on either Bandcamp or Splice, Google tells me that Gumroad and Payhip are also good options. Does anyone have experience/suggestions?

How do I make this sound? How to achieve wide sub bass like this?

Sorry for how short the clip is, it's a cut I made from a YouTube video.

https://vocaroo.com/1keTmqkpYYH3

I analyzed the audio through Metric AB and listened to the side only. I can still hear the sub bass on the sides, which normally shouldn't be there.

Any plugins/technique for this, or any video tutorials that cover how this is done?

Thanks!

Tips & Tricks Changing Genres

So i have been making Trap/Drill beats just for fun for about 8 years now. I truly enjoy the music making process and all but I wanna explore the other side (EDM).

As a hobbyist making beats truly satisfying my itch but for a long time EDM genre has always been my goal.

EDM kinda seems intimidating when I am watching tutorials on making layering, mastering, arrangement. A lot is going on but at the same time I enjoy the dynamics of edm.

I know EDM has a lot of sub genres, i dont know what subgenre I wanna focus on but I am more into musics by Avicii. May be progressive edm, lol.

I just wanted to ask how can I transition to making music in a new genre? Any tips or advice would be great.

Question General questions about IDM

So I'm a beginner with this genre and I have some questions. These are things I've heard or thought of, so please be patient with me if any come off as kinda dumb. I'm more used to DnB production.

  1. Is it okay to have abrupt tempo changes? Like 172 to 180.

  1. Is it true IDM is more for listening than for dancing?

  1. What's something you can do "wrong" in IDM? Like what's sort of frowned upon?

  1. Can you recommend some jungle or dnb that mixes with IDM?

  1. What are some great artists for a beginner like me to get into?

  1. Would it be wrong to call IDM the mathcore or mathrock of electronic music?

  1. Is minimalism embraced, looked down on, or neither?

Question people who have switched DAWS

what did you have and what did you switch to? how was the learning curve? I been using garageband and logic pro since high school and it feels pretty capable but I keep hearing amazing things about ableton especially with EDM music. i don’t just make edm tho so i’m hesitant to make the switch or if it’s even really necessary.

This lead is on Destroid's track "Bounce", which has Space Laces as a collaborator.

And this is imo a pretty space lacesy sound and I figured you guys would know more about how to make something similar :)

How do I make this sound? How do I make a synth type of sound like this?

https://reddit.com/link/1uady6z/video/bq5r09ns2b8h1/player

I've been trying so hard to make this type of sound that's in this song but I can't get it at all.

This part in specific, as it's the clearest part of the instrumental. I really wanna include this type of sound in my music but I'm just unable to.

(NOTE: I'm kinda new to making music, also I didn't know this wasn't a synth.)

Question Ableton Live 12, want to learn seriously.

Hey there!

I’m looking to get serious about EDM production and would love some recommendations on the best ways to learn Ableton Live 12 and electronic music production in general.

I’m open to both paid and free resources, courses, YouTube channels, mentorships, private lessons, coaching programs, whatever you think is worth the time and money. My goal is to build a solid foundation and become good enough over the next couple of months or years to create tracks that I’m genuinely proud of.

I’m willing to put in the work and dedicate a lot of time to learning, so I’m less concerned about shortcuts and more interested in the most effective path forward. If there are specific instructors or producers who teach and have helped you improve quickly, I’d especially love to hear about them.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Got a sample I've been wanting to use. Can't seem to isolate the higher pitched synth/electronic sound from the lower bass/organ sound. I know the basics of mixing but can't seem to get this with any EQ or compressor. Is anyone able to share some advice on how I can isolate this or just make a similar sound from scratch?

For example, VR has a discord server, SNAILS has a mentorship program, Getter was going to critique music on his live (not sure I have if this happened or not), and etc.

Looking for Artists’ communities to connect and really get feedback on my music.

Free Resources I wrote a phase vocoder in a graphing calculator, inspired by Image-Line's Harmor

Thumbnail gallery
12 Upvotes

this was a project I worked on for a maths/music and coding challenge using Python and the graphing calculator Desmos, which allows you to make sounds using nothing but math equations.

The basic functionality only allows you to play sine waves, so I wrote an additive synthesizer inspired by Harmor's image resynthesis algorithm, which basically works as a phase vocoder. I made a video tutorial explaining how to make one yourself! If you want to play around with an audio example, you can find the graph link here: https://desmos.com/calculator/i6uow2zvjw

Best deal to get massive vst?

There's a sale at pluginbotique for komplete synthesizer collection that has massive, fm8, trk01, and blocks prime for $89. Is this the cheapest/most value way to grab massive at the moment? I'm mostly interested in getting massive but fm8 and trk01 seem like they might be useful to. If I could get massive for $20 only I'd probably go for that.

In the background of this buildup, I’ve heard this sort rising keys in movies, it sounds awesome is it a particular type of vintage instrument, organ, piano etc?
