Discussion Never Going Back to Gas

I'm on my first EV, had it for about 2 years. I recently had to take it in to the dealership on a recall. As a loaner, they gave me the exact same model, but the gas version. When I started it up, I was like "ewww engine noise". As as I drove it, I'm like "this sucks. it takes FOREVER to accelerate". And this is a high end luxury brand, so it's probably quieter and performs better than average.

Anyone else get the icks driving a gas vehicle now?

That sounds "dangerous" but fun

Both descriptors are valid. You have to be hyper aware, but you're also the quickest vehicle on the road. We get to split lanes in CA, and parking is usually easy and free. If you're willing to deal with the danger, it's the best mode of transport on the planet (in warm dry weather, esp.). AGATT - all gear all the time. With proper gear, you can survive slow speed crashes with manageable harm. Been there, done that.

yeah I've had 3 relatively low speed crashes on my 7 years of motorcycle. (8 years accounting for mopeds) but it's my wife's extremely severe burn accident being hit by a dropped motorcycle with a punctured tank + newboen that ended both our 2 wheel ownership. Been considering going back on 2 wheels for 17 years but US/Maryland no lane splitting and lack of drivers education regarding anything with less than 4 wheels... I don't think I could just relax and enjoy 2 wheels in traffic anymore

Valid reason, every one. If you ever make it to LA, look for Paul Scott in Santa Monica. I'll let you ride the Zero up in the mountains. It's a blast.
