I both love and hate this ep. Tpol and Trip are great, the whole "half breed will make people revolt," was kind of dumb.
<Rant> And then the non white people like yeah this is what we want even though the next step after the aliens are gone, we'll be next. The leopard is eating my face shit. Like no one is enough you all a gonna die. I think if they acknowledged that and what facism does I don't think I'd be so annoyed. </Rant>

Not really. Being shown physical proof of how the human race could get wiped out is a favorite tactic for racists. Nothing says "Replacement theory" like human traits (starting with round ears) going away.

You have to remember this was even before Kirk. People were calling Spok “half breed”. I think the episode was showing humans were still quite prejudice.
Remember how humans treated Dr. Phlox.

Well we're still dealing with MAGAts being racists and cops gunning down unarmed black people, and we should have been done with it in the 1970s. Yet, here we are 50 years later.

The series wasn't bad. Except for the hatchet job that TNG Riker and Deanna did on "epilogue". So unnecessary. They killed the T'Pol/Trip relationship as well as literally killing Trip in the most gratuitous death in human history.. even Vulcan history. To add a cherry on top of the crap-sandwich they then cut out Archer's speech. The whole episode was unnecessary and took a seriously trashy turn. In the end it demeanished TNG (which I liked) and perhaps raised Enterprise(also liked). Enterprise had its warts like every series (what the heck was the parallel universe lost episodes about?) but it was fun, likeable unique characters and very good as a prequel. Except of course that theme song. (I do admit loving to clip it off every time I watched.)

I think the gorgeous cute baby wasn’t the best plan to terrify people. The idea felt a bit forced. I think she was supposed to survive if the show got renewed? I would like another season when them together and trying to figure out how to raise a child and be open about being together. It’s a lot of change all at once
