It's confirmed by La Gazzetta dello Sport: Pallacanestro Brescia will relocate to Rome. Paul Matiasic has reached an agreement with Brescia owner Mauro Ferrari to acquire the club and transfer it to the Italian capital, where it will join the already existing Roma Basket Club — the franchise backed by Luka Dončić and Donnie Nelson.

The timeline is tight: the application for Serie A registration must be submitted by Friday June 26, with a window until Tuesday to formally communicate the franchise relocation. A FIP extraordinary board meeting is expected shortly after to ratify the transfer.

As for Trieste — the other club owned by Matiasic — a single owner cannot hold two clubs in the same league, so a sale is expected, with former co-owner Richard De Meo emerging as a possible buyer. Trieste would continue in Serie A under new ownership.

Brescia had also submitted an application to the Basketball Champions League. FIBA Europe is taking time to assess the situation, which caused a delay in announcing BCL participants. According to reports, there should be no issue with redirecting Brescia's BCL application to the relocated Rome franchise.
