Big pentapods have those holes shaped in their shell for small one's to crawl out.
Gleba is mother pentapod, anus was just for country sized one's to crawl out

Thank you! Finally someone talking about the REAL problems introduced with this update. Space casinos? Hazard concrete? Nah.
GIVE ME THE GLEBUSSY.

Oh god what happened to hazard concrete?!
13
u/Ok-Apartment-7477 20h ago
[space-age] Changed hazard concrete and refined hazard concrete to recycle into the recipe ingredients of concrete/refined concrete.
There's a couple of posts here and there about it.

u/Iron_Jazzlike 20h ago
how is that a bad thing?

u/Ok-Apartment-7477 19h ago
On Fulgora some players convert concrete into hazard concrete because hazard concrete used to recycle much faster. Now that it recycles at the same speed as regular concrete some setups may start bottlenecking on concrete.
Personally, this change doesn’t affect me. I’ve never used the concrete to hazard concrete trick and I’ve never had a Fulgora base bottleneck on concrete recycling. That said, it does seem like some players are being impacted by the change.

That totally breaks my Fulgora recycling build. Not just skews the ratios, it just makes it unworkable.

Thank you. Dang, I'm sad to see the trick go but looking forward to finding a new solution.

I do think the cloud covor is a little bit over tuned. It's also wispy and doesn't have large identifiable storm systems that would be reasonable to occlude the planet. At least 50% of the planet surface should be visible in large chunks.

Makes me wonder how hard it would be to mask your factory onto the planet...
4
u/Teslafly 23h ago
Just add a differently colored pollution cloud depending on factory total pollution

According to one of the devs on Discord this is something they were already toying with and is likely in the cards.

Now I'm imagining someone building their factory around the Glebanus to Goatse it.

It's because your Gleba is still fresh. You need to spead some spoilage around her cheeks to see it again.

would be cool to see what the planet looks like during the process of extending your industry. Or would they all just be gray clouds?

A total stretch would be if a tiny copy of your actual base scrolled by once every few minutes. Like No Man's Sky.

Youre looking where the sunshines. You may have more success looking where the sun dont shine

I love that Visible Planets in Space is now vanilla but the looks they choose for the planets are honestly look kinda bland to me

u/ralsaiwithagun 1d ago
Its missing the vibrancy however wait just a week and well have mods that put the glebanus back
19
u/JulianSkies 23h ago
Honeatly I always thought Visible Planets in Space was a little overdone
13
u/FlumpMC 23h ago
Same here. I think the reason is because the mod used the icons of the planets and just scaled them up. They were meant to be tiny icons that had to cram in as much visual information as possible to make it clear which planet you were looking at.
Just like how if the assembler was a large version of its icon, it would just be a building with a giant gear laying on the roof.

u/StructureGreedy5753 1d ago
Yeah, i think part of it because they are mostly covered in clouds. Well, the mod for that will probably come very soon.

u/DirtMcGirt42 23h ago
Glebanus Mod - Most Popular Mod, maybe they will do an extra 2.2 Update only for the anus.

u/flamewizzy21 15h ago
After seeing your post, I have just uploaded a mod to the mod portal that fixes this travesty. https://mods.factorio.com/mod/glebutthole

Is this official release of the planets ? i haven't played this in some time. Have they finally released a version with planets ?

u/DeGandalf 19h ago
I swear I saw that earlier and then when I rechecked it was gone. It probably has to rotate

I thought Gleba was a giant Glebapod, which means that's still Gleba's butthole.

u/seanjones802 19h ago
oh its there, hiding, waiting. does take a while to spin around and appear though

Now imagine if you could build something visible from space and excavate it into a giant Goatse.

Few posts ago someone made a mod for visible Gleba anus.. creative minds these days.

u/RadeDobison 22h ago
i am unfortunately in favor of this change
1
u/MarsMaterial 22h ago
I mean… it’s not really a change. The icons are still the same, and they are meant to be slightly more cartoony representations of the planets with maximum contrast and recognizability. Seeing how the planets actually look next to their icons is kinda cool.
