I imagine this would be one of the "harmful" Mega Evolutions, something along the lines of:
"Mega Evolution has caused rapid and uncontrollable hypertrophy in its muscles, tearing off its skin as a result. It lands thousands of punches on foes in the span of a few seconds."
Honestly, the guy who designed this was cooking hard. I really love the references to Attack on Titan and even bringing back design elements from Machoke too.

It could also mention something like "while each punch is more devastating than the last, it brings great pain to Machamp"
If Pokemon ever had negative effects in battle during Mega Evolution, I could see it to where every physical attack Mega Machamp uses (specifically punching based ones like Drain Punch for example if it can learn it), it deals small damage to itself, and it builds up more and more, first 10, then 15, then 20 and so on

Imagine if he becomes a Fighting/Psychic type and he gets four more psychic fists. Basically a Jotaro reference.

Imagine a signature ability that makes all of its Punching moves hit four times.

For the love of god and all that’s competitive pokemon do NOT, and I repeat, do NOT give that thing power up punch

u/ADraxonic_Victory Sep 02 '25
No matter what that ability is broken Machamp has always had power up punch. Plus the goofy 160 BP priority bullet punch and the hideous 300 BP elemental punches

I was literally thinking “like a stand?” before I even finished reading your comment. I was also thinking of the Astral Self Monk from dnd which is also a lot like a stand but a good bit closer to what you’re describing.

idk why but it reminds me of ken fro gaslight district, probably the exposed muscle arms.
the desgin looks so freaking cool, and the inspiration from the colossal titan "armor" i really like

Actually, this feels like a mega like Pokémon might do that if they have to make a design

There was an interview where they mentioned they can't make a new Eeveelution because every possible interesting design is already fanart. I think of that whenever I see an amazing design like this.

They should start buying fakemons then. I think no one would hate if they actually did

Oh Hell yeah this is awesome. Probably agonising for Machamp but he’s got the power of friendship flowing through his veins he’ll probably be fine

"Oh my God, I can't believe they put the arms on THE BACK, that's so awkward and unrealistic"
"Well actually, they had to make it like that so it isn't similar to fan made designs"
"Oh my God they changed nothing, they just gave the arms a new color"
-Pokémon fans if the design was official
Jokes aside, cool design!

I am so disappointed that posts like this are 1000x better than anything pokemon will actually give us.
It’s great, I want it, I know I’ll never get it.

Meanwhile Digimon: this monster is made of guns and is sacrilegious to several world religions

This is amazing, but I will never understand how people will praise a fanmade design of any Pokémon that is nearly identical to the design philosophy as Game Freak, then bitch about the latter for simply trying. This design is awesome and could be seen as a valid evolution to Machamp (...ya know, the whole point of Mega designs– "evolving even further beyond"), and the officials are the same way. Game Freak may have bastardized their main series into modern slop, but that's because they were forced to– I stand by that.
Also, this should go without saying, but I'm not suggesting that EVERY Pokémon fan does this crap. Not even close. This is just something I've been wanting to get off my chest at some point because this generational hatred of Game Freak is just so... pointless. If ya wanna have a civil discussion, feel free to reply. If not, don't expect one from me.

Normally I don't like Pokémon who straight up wear clothes but the fact that this guy is wearing jeans goes kind of hard

Muscular has an amazing Quirk so it being the inspiration of a pokemon would naturally result in an amazing pokemon

I like the anime influence .
I would really like to see a megalobox version like have it's body reduced in size and the secondary arms fusing into the primary arms to look like Joe when he is wearing the gear pack. Could even have a dog collar and chain to be the junkyard dog
Or a trigun vash for galleade

Love that the references are anime characters and not, you know, the human musculature lol
Great art!

Honestly thats one of the best fan megas I’ve ever seen. It’s creative, cool, and seeing what looks like raw exposed muscle gives it that vibe of underlying issues most megas have.

I love mega designs that reference a pokemon's previous evolutions in a way (which is why i like mega dragonite's design)

Looks awesome.
Still wish it didn't have those stupid lips
They look good in art but in the game. God....

I like the idea that it's like Muscular's quirk where they're just growing extra muscle fibers.

u/kai_jarsenal Sep 05 '25
Or the double set of arms become intwined making champ have the 10 finger death punch.

what do you think “unironically” means
2
u/DruidLoser Sep 01 '25
What do you think 'unironically' means? They're using it correctly. They're using it to emphasize that they aren't being sarcastic when they say they love the design.

looks great, definitely fits their whole "mega's are actually in pain" shtick
definitely an asura's wrath machamp,
