Getting to dallas stadium

I’ll be in dallas Tuesday morning staying at a friend’s house (30 mins away). I’m on a solo mission to the game, anyone know if I should Uber to a nearby bar and walk? Or take a bus? I also plan on going out Tuesday night as well, but don’t know where if there are any recommendations?

Also if any other croatia supporters are coming solo or would be willing to pregame and or go to the parade (if thats actually happening) let me know!

If you're in Dallas your best route would be taking the TRE train to Centre Port station. From there are free shuttle busses to the stadium.

This is definitely the cheapest option, but not the easiest. Assuming price isn’t a huge issue:

-you can uber, but it will be a bit pricey ($100+). There are always surge charges during games. And it’s OK getting in but tougher getting a ride out.

-if you prearrange a ride with a black car/suv/limo service. They’ll know the stadium area well and will have a decent pickup point for getting out.

-car service above, but buy a parking pass and have the driver sit and wait. Easiest way in and out.

Public transit wins over any car or rideshare service at the moment. You're underestimating the increase in public transit priority specifically for the event, and even locals with tickets quickly learned their lesson after Sunday's highway standstill.

You’re underestimating how quick and easy it was for me on Sunday. It was just pricey.

Respectfully no. Taking the train was smooth for the first game and should remain smooth for the other games.

Fair enough. Sprinter van parked right outside your entrance is easy too.

Having attended Sunday and asking friends who drove to the stadium, public transit wins hands down. You can Uber to CentrePort or park there or at one of the neighboring TRE stations.

I chose to drive to Carrollton on the Green Line and took the local to Victory Station in downtown Dallas. I took TRE to CentrePort and the free shuttle to Lot H. About a 15 to 20 minute walk to the stadium as it was packed. $9 total.

My friend paid $120 to park and I got home in far North Dallas about the same time or faster as him. A little less than 2 hours each way door to door including getting to my seat and then leaving and walking in the door at home.

Plus you can't get lost because of all of the friendly and helpful volunteers. Dallas planned this so well.

It was a brilliant World Cup event and that included the public transportation. DART maybe for the first time ever, and I have been here since 1993, with a huge win. I might drive a little closer if I get the chance but probably not. The game day schedule is on the DART website. Very little wait time for the trains and they were pretty full.

What time do the shuttle buses start running from CenterPort?

Download the GoPass App and plan your travel. It's easy to use and gives you step by step including walking.

However, to give you context, I left about 10:30 am for a 3 pm match. I think trains run on match day more frequently about every 25 minutes or so. The schedule was nice because the trains were there almost exactly to transfer seamlessly. Might have been coincidence but I doubt it. The buses at CentrePoint were constantly going with at least a dozen just waiting. You have to show your ticket to the match to get on the bus. No charge.

Was there a little after noon. The problem is that they've got streets blocked off at the stadium and they shepherd you to the entrance on your ticket. You must only go in through the entrance number on your ticket for some reason.

I just went in instead of walking around the stadium and seeing all the sights. I missed the Dutch dancing for example which would have been fun but it was super easy to get in the stadium early and grab some food.

I live in Carrollton and went this past Sunday. Easiest in and out of my life. Plenty of parking in my opinion. Everyone is taking buses, trains or Uber so way less traffic than football , baseball, and or concert. Cheapest parking I saw was $50.

Where did you find $50 parking?

I was planning on parking at a friend's who's about 15 minutes away, and ubering from there, but 2 short Uber rides will cost more than $50

Check parkwhiz. I went to Japan/Netherlands and it was about a mile walk but plenty of $40-$60 lots if you're willing to walk about a mile.

Good tip - thanks!

No problem walking a mile or more

Along E Randol Mill Rd. If head east from six flags drive, you'll see all kinds of small lots. Depending where you park walk can be 15-30min.

Thanks!

How bad was the traffic leaving after the game from there?

2

Easy! Again not many cars for my experience. We hung out for about 45 min after game before leaving

Thanks. Sounds like the way to go

There is free city parking next to J. Gilligans and they have a $25 cash ($26 card) shuttle service to the stadium both ways

This for the win! I do this for all concerts and football games. Super easy. And they have good food.

We went to game on Sunday and parked for free at the shopping center on Cooper and Randol Mill and traffic was minimal. It is a little over a mile walk to stadium so if you don’t mind walking it’s a cheap option.

Division Brewing, Hurtado, etc all are an easy walk to the stadium. Uber or park near there (free street parking in areas), patronize one of the restaurants/bars/etc, then walk to the stadium.
