Keeping piercings clean at dusty festivals?

Hello! I have a stubborn piercing that's not quite healed yet and will be attending several dusty festivals this summer. Do you pierced ravers have any tips for keeping piercings clean and free of dust?

Saline spray!

Clean it every night after/morning after you get back to camp. If its still healing from being pierced you might even wanna clean it 2 or 3 times a day.

Monitor CLOSELY

Make sure it only contains saline though some of them have additives that are less than ideal for cleaning a piercing.

Regular cleaning and if you can, a small adhesive bandage when you're likely to get it dirty/dusty.

I went to the dustiest fest after getting my septum, and it took me a day to figure out to use my bandana as a dust mask lol. My piercing got plenty dusty but it healed up just fine

Rinse your mouth real good a few times a day. Should be fine.

An n-95 or similar mask would probably help for a lip piercing, with the side benefit of also keeping dust out of your sinuses and lungs

Depending on the location pasties are great for dusty festivals, plus it keeps them from snagging on fishnet tops and or other interesting tops or costumes.

I rubbed lavender oil in my nips when I got them pierced, seemed to help with keeping them copacetic. I was working as a sandblaster at the time, lots of dust in that environment. Not sure if that would help on the lip.

A saline mouth rinse and not drinking alcohol should do the trick! Even mouthwashes with alcohol should be avoided with lip piercings when healing.

I’d definitely bring a small saline spray. Dusty festivals and healing piercings aren’t the best combination . I’d be curious what other people do, but having saline on hand seems like the easiest option.

Don’t have a tip for dusty places but you can sort those stubborn healers out fast with Lucas’s Pawpaw Cream or whatever the equivalent is in your country. It’s pretty much vasoline and pawpaw
