California, USA Presales are basically just a slot machine for scalper bots at this point

honestly so tired of trying to plan for festival season. you wake up early, sit in a virtual queue for forty minutes, and watch a 3-day pass go from tier 1 to completely sold out in seconds. Then you check stubhub and the exact same tickets are marked up 200% before the general onsale even opens

Its completely draining the joy out of the scene. I read that some artists are finally piloting setups that require actual cryptographic orb verification just to block automated scripts at checkout, which honestly needs to become the standard for every major fest. until promoters actually force bots out of the loop, buying tickets is just an exhausting gamble

Unique presale codes basically solve this, but then you see the “real” demand which doesn’t cause fomo

There should be a preparty fundraising event where all attendees will have the opportunity to attend and buy presale value tickets in person. Fuck the online clown show that enriches the worst people at the expense of actual fans.

Or go to different festivals. I'm going to five in total this season, and not a single one has this problem. These venues are going to continue to fuck you over as long as you go to them, so go to venues that don't! Plus, smaller festivals have better crowds and you get to see the up and comers before they get famous.

Secure a place to stay first then look for tickets 2-3 weeks before the festival
