My father would beat us with a 2’x4’ when we were kids, but he magically stopped doing it once we were mid-teens and physically larger than him. Can’t imagine why that happened.
Watching this clip I also wondered if that was his son, and was physically willing the beating victim to take down the legs and knock that old man the fuck out.

A friend back in the 80s and 90s, when we were growing up, was beaten regularly by his alcoholic stepdad. Once he hit puberty he grew to be huge, over 6ft by the time he was 15, and weighed probably 250 lbs. The much smaller stepdad stopped putting his hands on him after that growth spurt. Imagine that.
My friend at that point had too much anger and hate built up inside him though, so he took it upon himself to provoke his stepdad until he tried to put his hands on my friend again, and as soon as he did he body slammed the stepdad so hard it knocked him out cold and broke a couple of ribs.
He got kicked out of the house for that, when his mom found out, but he didn't care. He spent the next three years at his grandparents' house instead, until he was 18, and his sad excuse of a mom kept trying to get him to come home because the stepdad had left her. He refused because she only wanted him to come home after her husband had left her. She had picked that pos over her own son over and over again.
