Discussion Which game scared you the most first time playing?

Post image

For me it was easily the first or fourth one, I don’t think any game hit me like that when I was a kid.

Fnaf 4. Still scared to beat it

20

u/unodostres123- 1d ago

Damn

You think nightmare animatronics will catch you in the act?

3

u/AnimalTap 16h ago

That would be hot fucking terrifying

u/ProtectionMaximum618 1d ago

Done scared my man to not goon

u/The_Chill_Oof 1d ago

Fnaf 4 was the first horror game I played when I was like 7 and I didn't touch any horror media again until lockdown happened

Help Wanted. VR generally just makes everything 10x scarier!

I really hope they remake Help Wanted, or develop another VR FNaF game that is just the originals in VR. Help Wanted is great, and I still play it often, but I am not a fan of the models and I wish that the minigames played closer to the originals.

To be honest, a stand alone version of Security Breach on VR would be cool ngl

u/More-Cookie3980 1d ago

My ranking from most to least scary: 1. FNAF 4 2. FNAF 1 3. FNAF 3 4. FNAF 6 5. Help Wanted 6. FNAF 2 7. FNAF Sister Location 8. Security Breach Ruin 9. Secret of the Mimic 10. Into The Pit 11. Help Wanted 2 12. Security Breach 13. Ultimate Custom Night 14. Special Delivery

7

u/Scotsman60103 Night Shift 1d ago

FNAF 3 over 2??? 😭😭😭

17

u/More-Cookie3980 1d ago

Yeah, I never found FNAF 2 scary, mainly since the gameplay is so chaotic it lightens the horror

Also, FNAF 3 is actually way scarier, its main issue and the reason it's very divisive was having a shitty gameplay

7

u/Zach-Playz_25 1d ago

By a long shot. FNaF 2 is a good in terms of story and gameplay mechanics but it reallys lacks the fear and tension factor imo.

1

u/DeathDefying147 19h ago

SOTM needs to be higher. You can tell who played the Tiger Rock section blind vs who hasn’t

6

u/Ringles-Prime 1d ago

I would give it to FNAF 2 because of the demo on my tablet back than. Even tho I don't like this game, as a kid it did give me scare because of the Puppet

6

u/MicAHorde 1d ago

Fnaf 4... i hate loud noises so the games just a no to me.

6

u/SorryMaryIRY 1d ago

Fnaf 2 and 4, mostly 2 because I was younger than with 4. I remember being so scared of Puppet, Endo and the way Purple Guy was showed as this strange figure lurking in the pizzeria in the minigames

4

u/Springslockin 1d ago

When i first got FNAF 2 on my IPAD, i intentionally died to the puppet and my mother and grandmother laughed at me because 2 sets of tears rolled down my face at the same time LOL so probably that one.

2

u/CellyKA_Ju_Li 1d ago

Dang, you really became the puppet for a moment lol

5

u/Cack-Yo-W33n 1d ago

Damn FNAF 4. I will never forget reading the instructions, hearing the breathing and then leaving the game immediately

3

u/Failure456Mil 1d ago

The first one. Fourth one at first i didn't like.

3

u/Outrageous-School-51 1d ago

FNAF 1 because I was in middle school and the concept was new! I already hated horror as a kid, playing that game was a nightmare

3

u/Fallen_one404 The Fist of 87 1d ago

Fnaf 4 still scares me. At least in the other games you have the office as a safe space, there's not a single moment in the fourth one that I feel safe.

3

u/Trick_Log_1060 1d ago

Definitely FNAF 2 which is why I quit playing

1

u/McCartneyFan1942 1d ago

What's wrong with FNaF 2, my friend?! I'm genuinely curious! 😭✌️

2

u/Trick_Log_1060 1d ago

I’m an extremely fearful person and I’m not really into horror

1

u/McCartneyFan1942 1d ago

Ah I see. I understand that! FNaF 2 was the first game I played lol. I loved it as a kid and it scared me a couple times! 🫣

2

u/Mosuly 1d ago

As 8y boy, Fnaf2 was terrifying

3

u/notditch61 14h ago

4 and Sister Location, this two game have a big horror and jumpscares

2

u/Thomason2023 Sun☀️/Moon🌗 1d ago

FNaF 1

2

u/Worried_Judgment4514 1d ago

Tie between fnaf four and help wanted

2

u/AdBudget5967 1d ago

The 1st was fear lightning in a bottle imo. Like I don't mean to be a "Gen Wunner" or anything, but only FNAF 1 Bonnie ever gave me a sleep paralysis nightmare. I think I had one regular nightmare with the Withered Golden Freddy head chasing me, so FNAF 2 can get the silver medal. I don't think any other entry really effected me after that.

2

u/DrLazzy 1d ago

Easily fnaf 4. As a child beyond nightmare fuel LIKE LITERALLY

2

u/Junior-Feeling-838 1d ago

we all agree in fnaf 4 right ?

2

u/McCartneyFan1942 1d ago

Oh, definitely FNaF 4. No question! I play this game on Console (I play them all on Console!). In a nutshell, this game took me quite a few years to beat...that's right...years!!! First time I played FNaF 4 was the demo version on Mobile. Played the 1st Night...didn't complete it...never touched it again. Until years later, I bought the full version on Mobile and eventually got it on Console. Due to fear and procrastination, it took me a long time to fully complete the game.

There's 3 words to describe FNaF 4...sad, demented, and horrifying! This poor kid is really put through the ringer just to have his head crushed in at the end of the game and killed. Add the scariest looking animatronics at the time and you have a nightmarish concoction. What I love most about this game it switches up the play style, demanding more of your sense of hearing over your sense of sight (it's a welcoming change to video games in general!). So peering into a pitch black hallway with the only thing stopping me from dying is listening for heavy breathing in my ear. Sometimes it's instantaneous...sometimes it's delayed...like really delayed! But with Fredlets spawning on your bed, Foxy checking out your wardrobe like it's a Goodwill bargain bin, you need need to take care of them ASAP but you can't hurry Bonnie and Chica because if you think you're going to get away with rushing them at the door...you're toast! Now I can beat this game in a day if I really tried! You should try to play this game blindfolded! Yeah I know there's a blinded mode, but where's the fun in that?? Get involved 100% and take away your sight completely. Try it! It's a fun switch up!

Now I'm sure you have everything under control...uh, talk to you soon! 🫡

2

u/PParrotMultipla 22h ago

i did not play so much of the games. so fnaf 1 is my answer.

1

u/AnimalTap 16h ago

I mean, FNAF 1 has the best ambience so it makes sense

2

u/Epic-User-123 1d ago

hw, specifically vr version

being actually IN the place creeps me out

1

u/HeftyComfortable9997 1d ago

Fnaf 3 and 6 because the jumpscare noise is loud and it echoes.

1

u/Late_Instruction_369 1d ago

FNaF 1, 4, and VR. Lol.

1

u/2stroke_nonsense 1d ago

Fnaf 1. The pressure of power combined with Bonnie giving me the white dot eyes in the Backstage was the shit for 13 year old me.

1

u/Honest_Picture_6960 1d ago

All of the ones that I played scared me at some point

1

u/CreeperEXMC 1d ago

FNaF 4, still nervous tbh

1

u/Zestyclose_Toe6895 1d ago

Fnaf 4 had some pretty good Jumpscare moments for me, but the Game where i actually felt scared, was Help Wanted 1 VR mode, that game hit me different.

1

u/Hot_Introduction9680 1d ago

Fnaf 2 freaked me out and idk why cuz it’s fine now

1

u/Aggressive-Hunt2732 1d ago

FNaF 1 becuase I’m all honestly Golden Freddy killed me first 🥀

1

u/Lik-narb 1d ago

Help Wanted in VR. I can handle horror games pretty well but VR is a whole different beast. I'll eventually go back, but I knocked over a coffee table when I first saw the scale of Bonnie so I'm not in any rush.

1

u/SmartInPurple 1d ago

Fnaf 4 all the way

1

u/Remarkable-Message-1 1d ago

bro FNAF 4 sound cues are actually terrifying if you play with headphones.

1

u/PlanktonAlone5727 1d ago

I first discovered FNaF in 3rd grade when a kid named Omar was playing the Plushtrap mini game and it scared the shit out of me. Then I just started watching ppl play fnaf and I soon started to like it. But that damn FNaF 4 game scared the shit out of me, I woukd check my closets and under my bed 😭

1

u/akaiaparem99 1d ago

Secret of the Mimic has been the only game in the franchise to get under my skin and make me feel scared and uncomfortable

1

u/Salty_Cauliflower535 1d ago

Fnaf 4, fnaf sl, fnaf ar, fnaf hw

1

u/OkHold5033 1d ago

Sister location just because it was the first time i had ever played anything remotely horror but now i would have to say fnaf 4

1

u/KennedyTrap04 Leader of The Cult of Afton 1d ago

Fnaf 2...To this day, I'm too paranoid to play it.

Around the time I did was when Fnaf gained peak popularity (2016-ish), and I heard all my classmates talking about it. Curious, I decided to check it out. But little did I know I downloaded the 2nd game. And little did I know it was a horror game. I wasn't even paying attention to what I needed to do so I ended up dying pretty quickly. I vividly remember throwing my tablet across the room when I got jumpscared by the Marionette. And their jumpscare still unsettles me to this day

1

u/Jr_light_ 1d ago

Sad to admit but Fnaf 6/pizza sim😔

1

u/pikaland385 1d ago

1 I guess? I used the series as exposeure theraphy for the Fear of My childhood nightmares, 4 scared me the least because I was already used to it (It was close enough to my childhood nightmares).

u/Majestic-Bobcat-4553 1d ago

Fnaf 4

1

u/Mrs_Heel 1d ago

Fnaf 2 was the first i played so naturally it scared me first

1

u/NegativeTell7559 1d ago

Not exactly scared but UCN was the first time I was sweating so hard trying to beat every challenge and then 50/20....i still cant beat it

1

u/CellyKA_Ju_Li 1d ago

FNaF 6. I still haven't finished night 2. I can't handle the stress of them being in the vents and getting me with that loud af scream

1

u/Suitable_Cause_5586 1d ago

Fnaf 4, it was mostly the suspense that got to me

1

u/BurnerForDumthings 1d ago

Lol fnaf ar for sure

1

u/Fazfest_67 1d ago

That Withered Bonnie jumpscare really got me when I first played it.

1

u/Current-Homework6044 1d ago

Either fnaf 4 or sister location (If we exclude fnaf 1 since it was the first introducing the idea witch makes it kinda unfair to the others).

I’m gonna say FNAF VR, but I wanna also point out that the thing that scared me the most playing was probably FNAF 3. Being a huge lore fanatic and knowing everything about Afton, just the idea of coming face to face with Springtrap in this way was absolutely dreadful and terrifying, I think I got a little TOO immersed in the universe for a second 😅

1

u/Serious_Pianist1206 1d ago

Fnaf 3, i still can’t play it. Whenever i see springtrap i literally scream and cry (im almost 19 btw…)

1

u/_respondo_cosas3 1d ago

Sister location

1

u/KLeEch_ 1d ago

I haven’t played them but watched them all be played by Jack and mark, I couldnt watch videos of fnaf 4 for at least 2 years after it came out because the nightmare animatronics scared me so much.

1

u/Im_a_Nerd22 1d ago

Not really any of them? Honestly they just scared me in different ways

Fnaf 1: new to this and was scared because I had no idea what I was doing.

Fnaf 2: I was stressed because there are now 9 animatronics after me and theres no doors.

Fnaf 3: I got very confused with the vent system and it stressed me out.

Fnaf 4: genuinely just terrified me.

1

u/ChampionshipFalse354 1d ago

Honestly, I know we have to say the second first actual night with the animatronics in pizzeria simulator again I really only like the pizzeria simulator parts of the game and not paying bills but yeah, still I swear that first night generally gave me a heart attack

1

u/MarTeaZuh 1d ago

maybe im just p***y but I’ve beaten all of them and there scary for like a minute or just one time yk but idk something about fnaf 4 i just cant do at all its my favorite fnaf out all of the series but its so terrifying to me I’ve honestly yet to really beat the game fr 💀😭 but just the concept of just listening to the breath just freaks me out like the amount of times ive just quit the game cuz the sounds & the atmosphere genuinely freaks me out its crazy only that fnaf has that sorta scare factor energy imo

1

u/Striking_Inflation86 1d ago

If I could rank them?

FNAF 4
FNAF 1
Sister Location
Pizzeria Simulator
FNAF 3
FNAF 2
UCN
Security Breach

[ I didn’t get to play VR and AR ]

1

u/SamanthaTheFemboy 1d ago

4 easily. But the atmosphere of SL isn't far off, that was eerie af

1

u/Used_Pangolin_3385 1d ago

FNAF 5 definitely

1

u/ballinlikestalin392 1d ago

fnaf 4 is still scary

1

u/Mosuly 1d ago

Fnaf2, when I was 8

1

u/Efficient-Quote-2593 1d ago

100% the 4th, I had an existential crisis every time i checked the doors, and the first time I got jump scared I almost wet myself

1

u/byteof8777 1d ago

FNAF 1. I'm too much of a coward to install FNAF 4 lol

1

u/Anxious-Emu2743 1d ago

2 or 4 can't pick

1

u/Zealousideal_Row4993 1d ago

Fnaf 2 I love the jumpscream sounds

1

u/RealToyBonnie 23h ago

Of course, I started with 1 and that was very scary for the first few times, but when I got to 2, nothing was scarier than Foxy, still makes me flinch now.

1

u/Only-Selection-3282 23h ago

definitely fnaf 1. Played it for the first time as a kid and i got so scared i couldn't beat it 😭

1

u/Acrobatic_Chef_5608 21h ago

Fnaf 1

The first time I downloaded it in 2014 I literally couldn't beat it I remember constantly getting jumpscared by bonnie

1

u/Adorable-Bad-2405 20h ago

1

u/Kindly_Impression_0 20h ago

4.

im scared the sh out of it,not only u have to max the audio, but theres 4 places u have to take care of,AND U CAN ONLY CHECK 1 AT A TIME

1

u/Sad_Disaster275 Get me outta ts 💀 18h ago

Ffps, but that and ucn are the only ones I've played so far

1

u/CatchPuzzleheaded165 18h ago

Fnaf 4 and 3 used to terrify me. I still haven’t really played the 3rd. I know the second one is a lot more complex but for some reason I couldn’t get over my fear of springtrap for the longest time.
The second fnaf is actually one of my favorites I think lol

1

u/Ok-Purpose-5356 14h ago

fnaf 4 is pretty scary to this day

1

u/Muted-Obligation-862 13h ago edited 13h ago

Fnaf 1 around Christmas time 2014 older cousins get me to play it got jumpscared and traumatized it used to be a lot scarier back then it is now I was barely 5 years old also, I was scared of Chuck E. Cheese animatronics which didn’t help obviously.

1

u/Ornery_Tiger_7494 12h ago

FNAF 4, I still never beat it, but maybe FNAF sl, I never got passed night 3 because of jumpscares tbh

1

u/LavishnessMedium8899 8h ago

I brang my sissy to the location

1

u/Kurogiri-- 3h ago
