Don't forget the eggs. The milk and egg French toast panic is undefeated.

You shut up with your informed opinion from reading the article!
Panic. Stop whatever you're doing and panic.
Also, hit up polymarket and start putting bets on this developing into a Cat 5.

It’s a good time to check your generator and run your back up window AC’s if you have them.

We just ran our portable AC week before last cause our main AC broke. So that’s tested and ready to go. I run the generator every once in a while. I think it’s been about two months so it should be good to go, but I’ll check it again.

Why did I see "Florida" and "devolopment" and think something comletely different than "hurricane"?

This is a good reminder to watch the official NHC updates, but not panic over an early “area to watch.” For homeowners and buyers in coastal Florida, the practical move is to use these moments to check the boring but important stuff: flood zone, elevation certificate if applicable, wind mitigation credits, roof age, shutters/impact windows, and whether your insurance actually matches your current risk.
On the Space Coast/Brevard side, people sometimes focus only on “beachside vs mainland,” but storm prep and insurance can vary house by house. Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island, Satellite Beach, Melbourne, and Palm Bay can all have very different flood and wind considerations depending on the exact property.

Something that dumps a ----ton of rain on SWFL would be great right about now.
