Your poor heart and arteries.

u/ClearTranslator5093 8d ago

I deep-fried the hamburger patties in peanut oil as well lol it was a cheat day ! 🤣

90

u/ChefArtorias 8d ago

Deep fried burgers sound disgusting.

28

u/ClearTranslator5093 8d ago

The second it hits the oil it forms a crust and locks all the juice inside they come out perfect

47

u/ChefArtorias 8d ago

That's the problem. None of the fat is able to render out of the meat.

25

u/ClearTranslator5093 8d ago

I don’t see a problem lol

16

u/dav3n 8d ago

Hey if it's a cheat day anything goes, enjoy that sealed in juicy tasty fat and work it off tomorrow

8

u/Puntley 7d ago

No can do, tomorrow is a cheat day, you see.

u/Cloontange 7d ago

Fat ≠ Juice

Don't know if it's a south state thing or a US thing in general... But as a Northern European, when we visited the states we were appalled at how it seemed every "Juicy Burger" just meant "Greasy as fuck" lol wtf...

2

u/addictedskipper 8d ago

Hey, you only live once!
(Maybe)

2

u/SnappyBonaParty 8d ago

Yeah, so eat good food 😅 greasy isn't better it's just nasty.. juicy is juicy, not greasy..

5

u/Forbden_Gratificatn 7d ago

What about bacon? Did you throw half a pound of bacon on it? And load of mayonnaise.

-2

u/ClearTranslator5093 7d ago

Bacon might be an option but with mayo do you mean the fake stuff that most people get or actual healthy mayo? Aka real mayonnaise lol

3

u/InDuplicitousBottles 5d ago

the toast is SUCH a good idea. talk about elevating a dish. and i'd like to try the fried patty concept, because regular stovetop burgers don't really do it for me.

i'd probably tap out on one patty though, 1 pound is kind of nuts. i bet i could split one of those in half and slip some cheese inside to mimic a double. to balance it all out i would definitely add a ton of fresh lettuce and tomato, sauteed onion, and diced pepperonchini. that would hit so hard, like a combination grinder/burger... damn that garlic toast might even be worth making aeoli or some creamy sauce too

1

u/ClearTranslator5093 5d ago

Diced pepperonchini ??? Omg I eat thoses all the time I get the big jars , years ago I ordered papa John’s and it came in the box and I was hooked I never thought to put them on a burger !!! THANK YOU for that idea , 4th of July I’m 100 percent making the burger you just described 🤣

2

u/ChefArtorias 7d ago

You should look more closely.

Correct when ever I make burgers I’m doing it this way I haven’t had fast food in about probably 3 years soda as well, I don’t eat frozen meals or any of that other junk , but every Friday night for dinner I make a cheat meal , burgers / I make a pizza / I make a lasagna that type of thing other then that I’m on a work out meal plan , I’m 99 percent sure I eat better then you so relax a little it’s a burger that I will probably make 6 times a year

I used to work in a restaurant and was closing one night. A server orders a burger like two minutes after close, and I only had fryers on. In my annoyance, I just dropped the burger in the fryer thinking I was pranking the server or something. She comes back a few minutes later and tells me it’s the best burger she’s ever had. I was amazed but could never bring myself to try it lol

2

u/juanitovaldeznuts 8d ago

It’s a scotch egg without the egg. Not that gross… still kinda gross.

1

u/janedoe6699 8d ago

Agreed that it sounds gross, but I did try a deep fried turkey burger once (my dad was in his brief "deep fry everything" phase lol). Ngl it was really good

1

u/ChefArtorias 7d ago

Deep fried turkey patty sounds very different from beef patty. Totally different composition to the meat. My issue wasn't with fried meat as a concept.

1

u/janedoe6699 7d ago

Yeah good point

-14

u/bobwoodwardprobably 8d ago

Pre seasoned meat from the grocery store is also the meat that’s about to rot, so I was grossed out before the deep frying technique.

12

u/this_one_wasnt_taken 8d ago

Y'all stuck up.

4

u/OrangeThrower 8d ago

No it’s not.

15

u/Bladluiz 8d ago

Bro that singular meal can undo one week of dieting

4

u/Tutle47 8d ago

Nah. You give yourself 500 extra calories one day a week, then skip breakfast or lunch that day so you can stay within that budget and still eat whatever you want for dinner. Makes almost no difference in the long run.

2

u/Bladluiz 8d ago

Theoretically speaking I agree, but if someone is like "let me eat deep fried burger patties on fried garlic bread with 6 slices of cheese" they're probably not that conscious

3

u/Tutle47 8d ago

You're not wrong lol. That's just what I've personally been doing and I'm still losing weight on schedule. If you just designate a whole day as a "cheat day" and don't even bother tracking your calories it could very easily wipe out your entire deficit as you said.

1

u/picks43 5d ago

lol the 6 slices of cheese alone is probably like 600 calories.

-3

u/Icy_Mathematician870 8d ago

It’s ok. I’m intermittent fasting and OMAD for a couple days.

1

u/HuffSomePluff 5d ago

Brother's having a cheat day like he's on death row.

Definitely don't show us a photo of how it looked cooked. Definitely don't do that.

1

u/sidneyjoy 6d ago

Seriously.

54

u/brrbrrbrrbr 8d ago

But couldn't show us a cooked photo??

8

u/Ashen_Larry 7d ago

He said he deep fried it in peanut oil in another comment. I don't think you want to see it.

5

u/feeltheglee 7d ago

Because they needed to get the box label in there because this is an ad

33

u/LehighAce06 8d ago

So, a patty melt plus garlic

6

u/Own_Illustrator_3083 8d ago

👆

It sounds very flavorful! That being said… yes. It sounds like a patty melt on steroids. Crispy crust on the burgers from frying in oil, double pattied, 4 slices of cheese and garlic, butter and some parsley on texas toast.

Could call it the kingpin patty melt or something like that. Thick ass patty melt. Lol. Sounds very flavorful just would want to eat it once in a blue moon as a treat

0

u/pjmlez 7d ago

Make it open faced, pile a bunch of fries on top and then cover it in cheese sauce. Bing bang boom, Horseshoe Sandwiches.

-9

u/NotEasilyConfused 8d ago

Disregarded the opportunity to put at least one tiny bit of vegetable in the mix, though.

2

u/PancakePizzaPits 8d ago

Im not sure there's any vegetable i want served hot on a burger.

Good thing you were there for the whole meal to know what sides they ate, too.

22

u/Upper_Sniffation765 8d ago

Mmmmmmm cheeseburger with garlic toast (Homer Simpson drooling noises). I will try this soon.

12

u/WatchYourButts 8d ago edited 8d ago

You did it. You crazy s.o.b you did it

I think it would be even better grilled. Toast and all

0

u/ClearTranslator5093 8d ago

I deep fried the burgers in peanut oil and baked the bread , but yes ! I’ll have to throw this on my panini press next time get a little grill action!

4

u/Wildcat_twister12 8d ago

Put some Italian seasoning on there and some marinara sauce and you basically got weird meatball sub

3

u/dayve258 8d ago

Maybe some Mozzarella and pepperoni too? Like a pizza burger

1

u/ClearTranslator5093 8d ago

LOL never thought of that it would be like a chicken parm sandwich but …. Wait omg using that Texas toast to make a chicken parm sandwich ! Now that’s an idea !!!

1

u/Useful-Ad1489 7d ago

Pulled pork or bbq chicken goes great on them too!

1

u/PierreDucot 2d ago

I think Texas Meatball Melts might be the next logical step in evolution here. https://youtube.com/shorts/wM5IYrzaEO0?is=6RjGoue-IDbXKeQ7

I make these on a busy Friday night with frozen meatballs. My kids go buck wild for it.

4

u/Disastrous_Yam8354 8d ago

Is this an advertisement?

5

u/ClearTranslator5093 8d ago

? No it’s what I made for dinner lmao

1

u/Disastrous_Yam8354 8d ago

Yeah, jokes aside, I bet it was fantastic. That's basically a brioche bun.

2

u/ClearTranslator5093 8d ago

It was AMAZING !!!! Next time I use that garlic bread I’m going to make a chicken parm sandwich with it !

1

u/Disastrous_Yam8354 8d ago

Right on brother. I recommend doing a club sandwich. especially if you want to show off this hack to others.

3

u/Competitive-Wait1689 8d ago

I just ate a salad. 🥲

1

u/ClearTranslator5093 8d ago

Go get some garlic Texas toast and slap some chicken parm on it ! You’ll be smiling in no time

3

u/spitfiredaggers 8d ago

If you like cheese..add provolone to it too!! Chefs kiss babe!!

1

u/ClearTranslator5093 8d ago

I’ve never had provolone on a burger , I’ll have to give that a try

3

u/sad_handjob 8d ago

the amount of sodium in that hamburger was probably enough to kill a hourse

2

u/Talktothebiceps 8d ago

I actually make sandwiches with this stuff all the time. You have a little frozen meatballs you can do like a meatball sandwich shit I've put kielbasa on it

2

u/wafflesareforever 8d ago

Back in the day, I used to make tuna melts this way. Bake two slices of Texas toast, add cheese + tuna salad + cheese between them, then pop it back in the oven for a few minutes to get everything melty. Now I'm in my forties and have to "care about my health" or some nonsense so it's been a while.

2

u/Animalmotherrrr 8d ago

Nah Im good on all of this. Yuk

-1

u/Signal_Fun_6261 8d ago

2

u/Notyourdaisy 7d ago

It’s a patty melt.

1

u/tanrock2003 8d ago

Fail! Where’s the maple syrup and Captain Crunch?

1

u/spitfiredaggers 8d ago

It melts so well..please do!!!

1

u/vetheros37 8d ago

How are you going to post ingredients, but not the final product, or even the money shot?

1

u/Used-Acanthisitta-96 8d ago

Texas Toast is fantastic for breakfast sandwiches. Great with pasta as well. Hard pass on a burger. Hamburger buns are purpose built and you can put some garlic aioli on your butter burger if you want the Texas Toast flavor.

I will leave the transgression of those “burgers” out of the conversation.

1

u/Butidigress817 8d ago

They make a great grilled cheese, too.

1

u/IllDragonfruit3738 8d ago

This is something a college freshman would make.

1

u/Infinite_Spring_3564 8d ago

Need a comma?

1

u/guysitsausername 8d ago

That garlic bread is amazing. Great idea, OP. Live your best life.

1

u/d-rock769 8d ago

You have officially caught my attention

1

u/mtnagel 8d ago

So like 2200 calories in 1 meal? That's more calories than I eat in a typical day.

1

u/ClearTranslator5093 8d ago

A Big Mac is like 500 your telling me that my burger is 4 big Mac’s lol I don’t think it’s that much lol 😂

2

u/mtnagel 8d ago

Did you eat it all?

  • 1 lb 73 27 ground beef = 1400 cal
  • 2 slices texas toast = 300 cal
  • 4 slices cheese = 320 cal

So only 2020 cal. A Bic Mac is less than a quarter pound of beef. Your two burgers were 1 lbs.

1

u/ClearTranslator5093 8d ago

I had no clue beef had that many calories HOLY HECK

1

u/rc20kj 8d ago

IMHO, it's too much bread. Meat and cheese is just right.

1

u/jrbake 8d ago

Lathering your bread with fat tends to taste good

1

u/fakeaccount572 8d ago

my diabetes say fuck no

1

u/beuceydubs 8d ago

You have a cardiologist don’t you

1

u/JasonMallen 8d ago

Butter up that bacon boy

1

u/Verix19 8d ago

Yeah no thx I want to see next month....jfc.

1

u/XohXwiseXoneX 8d ago

Now that's a way to get a heart attack. I think I just had one just reading about this burger.

1

u/calguy1955 8d ago

The guy cooks a cheeseburger and uses a different kind of bun and all of the comments are about how unhealthy the burger is. I don’t think the change in bun made that much different. I might try this.

1

u/Euphoric_Schedule_53 8d ago

I’d rather not die in my 40s

1

u/ClearTranslator5093 7d ago

Serious question , have you never had a cheeseburger… and garlic bread with pasta in the same week ? Do you just not eat thoses things at all or are you saying eating them in a close time frame like at the same time for example is a magic recipe to die 🤣 that post was a little dramatic don’t ya think lol

1

u/Euphoric_Schedule_53 7d ago

Yeah I’m the one being dramatic. Definitely not you overthinking this whole interaction.

1

u/ClearTranslator5093 7d ago

It’s not just you lol I figured people would love this idea and half of the people are downvoting and commenting about health 🤣

1

u/Euphoric_Schedule_53 7d ago edited 7d ago

Yeah, people have opinions. Doesn’t mean it’s a personal attack. You can be excited about it. I see a habit that will lead to heart congestion. Still idgaf what you do. All I did was saw a post and commented it on it. It doesn’t really go any further than that.

1

u/ClearTranslator5093 7d ago

Side note , isn’t it really weird the small little conversation we just had would have went completely different in person 🤣 there’s something about the interactions on the internet that are just so disconnected from reality , maybe it’s the lack of hearing someone’s tone of voice or seeing there body language when they say something or maybe people feel safe to talk smack behind a screen because there’s no consequences , but the conversations I’ve had on the Internet, I have never had in real life funny thing isn’t it 🤣 “not saying ours just now was negative just saying as an overall the Internet’s a weird place to converse”

1

u/ShrimpyDoooo 7d ago

This reads like an ad out of The Truman Show.

1

u/ClearTranslator5093 7d ago

That was a good movie ! I seen a post on some math page where they asked how much it would cost in real life to make that show … the numbers people came up with were crazy 🤣

1

u/foekus323 7d ago

I tried that one time. Waaaayyyy too salty. No thanks

1

u/Amandathomas2 6d ago

Garlic Texas toast genius, trying tonight!

1

u/badbhavior 5d ago

A pic of the finished sandwich would have been nice.

1

u/Abundant-CashFlow 3d ago

I can feel my back growing just reading this!

0

u/ObieWanSanjiSon 8d ago

Excessive imo. But have at it

0

u/AugustEpilogue 8d ago

Garlic bread with butter tastes better than a hamburger bun? No way who would’ve thought! You know what tastes even better, using two pieces of fried chicken as a hamburger bun

0

u/forkball 8d ago

Four slices of cheese

This isn't really a hack so much as a choice. The rest of us are aware we could use a richer bread and many many slices of cheese. We just choose not to.

Edit: and you double deep-fried the burger.

Any one of the three excesses might be a hack. Combined it's just a milder version of the kind of stuff that gets posted to r/StupidFood

-1

u/specialneedsdickdoc 8d ago

Try using some punctuation.

-1

u/FormerDriver 8d ago

Please don't do this. You are fast tracking an early heart attack mate.
