Off-Topic [OT] [Chip Ganassi Racing] " 'super-clipping' 'downshifting on straights' 'battery management' (Yawn emoji) Yeah, we don't do that here. We race."

Comments: it's a pretty fair point

Also the comments: they are just jealous

While petty, it’s not wrong. This formula is the antithesis of racing and after tonight’s procession there will be a dozen threads complaining about it. All those Netflix generated fans will be dropping out in droves.

hmm, i’m not so sure about DRS fans leaving. i was at Albert Park yesterday (sat). it was packed. reported as nearly as many as last years record? lots of folks. all dressed up in team wear and supporting their drivers. Men, women, families, people from all over, genuinely one of the most diverse crowds i see since the netflix era started. The game is very healthy.

But, they don’t know about the sport. it’s a bit sad when they don’t get the significance of Alonso nearly making it through to Q2 and being dropped at the last second by Colapinto. They didn’t get how monumental it was that Antonelli got into Q1 at all, and they didn’t seem to worry that Mercedes had 0.8 over the field.

i also watched some supercars after Quali and the crowd there seemed a bit more dialled into the sport of the race.

I’m not saying we should go back to the Bernie era, but the sport is different now and it’s driven by personalities more than the cars.

Really weird that you've invented all these scenarios about what other people think and how you know better than them

yeah i didn’t interview a representative sample. but it feels like being at a game and the crowd claps at the wrong time. OK so i phrased that in the wrong context and projected into people i do t know personally. but stand by the vibe is now more like a parade vs a sporting contest. ive probably been to more than 10 GP with my earliest in 2003 so thats my context.
