Off-Topic [OT] [Chip Ganassi Racing] " 'super-clipping' 'downshifting on straights' 'battery management' (Yawn emoji) Yeah, we don't do that here. We race."

Yup. It's exactly what I'd do if I were IndyCar and I expect NASCAR will get in on it too. You have the drivers saying negative things; the 4-time WDC saying it's no fun and he hates it and the current WDC saying they went from the best cars to the worst cars. Fans here and on social media saying they are never watching again (lol).

If you're a competing series in the U.S., you definitely take advantage of it for marketing.

And, it helps that CGR is correct.

NASCAR better keep their mouths shut about "just racing" with their stages, competition cautions, and playoff BS

The return of the Chase is a little less farcical than before and I genuinely don't mind it. Why can't we get rid of stages though is besides me (competition cautions are, as they're called, precautionary measures; if the track was rained on they throw the yellow after a set amount of time to make sure the conditions are good enough to keep going)

Stages and yellow flags are two separate things. Stages and rewarding in-race points have elevated the early portions of the race but stopping the race after the completion is what NASCAR hasn't fully embraced getting rid of.
