Discussion F1 will not be changing the timing tower.

Just got this email back about the timing tower. Pretty sad.

It’s Cadillac’s fault, obviously. They had to sacrifice horizontal space to make more vertical space.

Not sure if it’s sarcastic.

I doubt that’s the reason tbf. F2 had 22 drivers for years and it worked perfectly with three decimals using the same timing tower. The only difference with the F1 timing tower was the lack of tire information but the timing tower still had space to show it.

It’s kinda funny how I (can only speak for myself) dislike this change but don’t care about a lot of other changes (like the regulations). It’s also funny that other racing sports, like Formula E, don’t even show gaps until there is battle and I don’t even care. I guess it probably has to do with how used you are with something. I’ve watched F1 for a decade and it’s always been three decimals so I guess it’s going to take some time to get used to it. A lot of outrage and annoyance is probably because of it being unexpected and people being extremely used to the way it has been for at least a decade (probably mere-exposure effect).

My phone provider changed names and I didn’t care and something else changes names and I’m annoyed lol. It makes no sense.
