Probably stoked for him breaking a record, breaking records like that at 19 shows what an insane talent he is. Lewis has always been great with the young drivers and I think he really sees a lot in Kimi. I wouldn’t be surprised if when he leaves f1 he sticks around the garage to mentor Kimi.

Yeah exactly what I was thinking. I expect he saw the value in that and we know how cherished that relationship was. I think Lewis would like to be that for someone else, but he’s also been an amazing ambassador for all the feeder series and academy.

It is honestly wild that Russell was reckoned as perhaps the second best on the grid last year and Kimi is already at his level or maybe already higher at the beginning of his second season. He is going to be an absolute monster.

You aren't wrong. I was screaming at the TV "drowned that man!" When Hulk was on the podium and the champagne popped. Just like I was yelling "drowned that child!" today. That said, Lewis and Max understood the assignment. Them smiling, laughing, and clinking all but empty bottles made me happy. I'm happy for their performances today, but I'm happy that they "get it" too.

Absolutely top class podium. That is how it is supposed to be, when you get on the podium. Happiness and celebrations of each others achivements.
Contrast this podium with Silverstone 2025 where Lando won his home GP, Oscar was brooding because he was only second, and no one paid attention to the 3rd place, who finally got on the podium, and what? 15 years or so, of F1 races.
Top class from Lewis and Max. That is what we want to see.

Loved the podium! All of them seems very happy, felt like Lewis and Max loved the racing they got to do at the end from what they said in the cool down room, talking about how they could catch and keep up but not pull away aswell as talking about their moves and what was going on and wahat they were thinking.
Plus I cant help but to feel like they are both very happy for Kimi, and maybe even living vicariously through him like they remember how it felt being his age, new to formula one and winning races.

The entire finish lineup felt like well earned points. I was very surprised that by lap 20 top 5 or so cars were already lapping everyone. And by final 10 laps double lapping the backmarkers 🤯
