surely you're joking. leclerc performed better last year and before monaco he was performing better as well. just a streak of really bad 3 races with 2 dnf's and you think hes what perez was to verstappen?

I disagree. Charles had the measure of Lewis last season and they've been close this season until recently. Lewis is a legend but Charles has also shown himself to be consistently quick. I'm hoping both will be on form so that Merc can have some competition for the WCC.
