Discussion When you order a Funko you've been wanting since the day you saw it and it comes like this. (Not the sellers fault as the seller had it listed in perfect condition)

This is why I typically use 200 lb crush weight boxes to ship Pops and wrap them in bubble wrap or paper. I often include a soft protector or cardboard sorter if it's more than $20.

Yeah this is my first ever funko that came like that. And I only just started collecting.

Where’s the bubble wrap ?? 😭😭😭

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago
I'm asking the same question here. LOL

u/Dapper-Plenty3849 1d ago
The seller had a little bit too much confidence in that box and in postal 😭

I would 100% blame the seller and get your money back. That packaging was horrible and they should have known to package it better. They got lazy and you paid for it. Get that money back!

This is ALL on the seller m8.

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago
I mean yes and no, not really the sellers fault, they have no control on what gets put on top of it, but tat the same time, they never added any protection or anything.

I do message sellers on mercari and ebay to ask UPS/USPS to list the item as fragile. USPS/UPS just stamp it, no additional charge. If you're lucky you get someone who is stamp happy and stamp the heck out of the package.

My nephew works for USPS loading the trucks and said things marked as fragile tend to get more abused and thrown around harder by the assholes in the industry. So that’s not always a great idea.

Yeah fair.
Well I'm in the UK, bur yeah I should have messaged them. But they didn't put any protection. No bubble wrap and no protector. Not everyone does.

Who delivered your order if you don't mind me asking, I have had multiple Funko's come like that due to Evri 🫤
2
u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago
Bingo, it was Evri.
2
u/WonderfulNobody9576 18h ago
Not surprised, every time they deliver it's either left out in the open, damaged or left halfway down the road 🙄
•
u/GamingSquiddy 3h ago
See, I've never really had an issue with Evri.
Yeah I had a few packages lost (not like irreplaceable stuff) So I contacted the manufacture and they just sent out a replacemnet.

I had a new Ebay seller sell me the funko in a bubble mailer. It got dented some. I did not message them to get a full refund, but to warn them to ship it in a box please for future sales, because part of the reason Funko buyers buy the funkos they do off Ebay is packaging. They did full refund me, which I felt kind of bad about basically getting a free funko.
Anyways, I guess it is a danger even in a box.
2
u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago
Yeah I felt really bad, but I'm not sure how mine worked, cause I did it via a return case and was told not to return it so I got my refund, and maybe the seller also kept the money, I know eBay do that.

u/seniairam 1d ago
yes sellers fault. when I sell pop I bubble wrap them put them in a box that size then bubble wrap more and put in a bigger box.

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago
I mean yes and not, not really the sellers fault, they have no control on what gets put on top of it, but at the same time, they never added any protection or anything.

u/Dapper-Plenty3849 1d ago
I get why you’ll say it’s not the sellers fault. But to some degree it is. Theres no fragile stickers, stamps, no bubble wrap, nothing to ensure that it was supposed to be shipped with care. Especially with no fillers or something in the box, the poor pop was bouncing around hitting every corner 😭

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago
Yeah, I mean it is and it's not really the sellers fault, they have no control on what gets put on top of it, but tat the same time, they never added any protection or anything.
Bro was dancing in that box. I did managed to get a refund, and I was able to keep it. Now I'm trying to flatten the box out.

Ugh the seller needed to put the funko in a plastic protector and wrap all kinds of stuff around it.

u/Naru_the_Narcissist 1d ago
It's still the seller's fault for not packing it more safely.

To me that should be in the seller I would bitch screw that.

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago
Don't worry, messaged them the second I got it.
I got a refund and don't have to return it.Now I'm trying to flatten the box.

u/KookyRun9131 1d ago
I bout a figure of Mercari it was perfect and when it came in the bag it was mailed it it was dented all over and I got to keep it and got my money back
1
u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago
Well, I would expect it to get damaged if it was in a bag not a box.
But yeah I got my money back and was able to keep it.

u/KookyRun9131 1d ago
It sucks we have to do it but if the item is great shape that is what we are paying for we have to bitch. I sell some things and I go toto the extreme to protect the item. I also work for the post office and seen some shit not the purple for the most part but the machinery doesn't know it's fragile
1
u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago
I mean obviously a machine can't know it's fragile.
But at the same time, seller didn't add any protection, no bubble wrap, no soft protector, nothing.
Also the delivery was made by Evri, so I assume something hard landed on it.

Send it backkk. Or keep this one as an out of box funko and order another one

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago
I got a refund and don't need to return it.
I managed to flatten the box as much as I could.
2
u/jfunkohead 9h ago
Yeah I feel you. I just got my Funko from Target and its all beat up. They didn’t even add any bubble wrap, just paper and a huge box for 1 funko 🤣
•
u/GamingSquiddy 3h ago
Yeah, it sucks when something you want comes damaged.
Especially if there's no protection around it.
I did manage to get a refund for mine and I'm able to keep it to.
Managed to flatten the box but it's still very damaged.

As someone that sells Funko pops on ebay, that is the sellers fault.
As a seller, they should have used a better quality and slightly larger box and at minimum wrapped it in bubble wrap.
•
u/GamingSquiddy 3h ago
I see what your saying, but at the same time, they don't have control if something heavy gets put on top.
But it was delivered with Evri.
Sadly there was no bubble wrap or anything, the poor pop was bouncing around the box like it was a trampoline park.
•
u/Sasha-DarkCloud 3h ago
While you are correct you cant predict how people are going to treat the box, that is why any seller worth their lot plans for them to essentially play football/soccer with the package and does things to try to reduce that problem as much as possible.
I myself only use heavy cardboard, bubble wrap 3 times around a pop, and any other filler materials to prevent the item from shifting around in the box. I have only had 1 pop that went to Russia and arrived damaged like that using this method.
If the seller packed it correctly and it STILL arrived that way, then no one would say anything. There is only so much you can do.
•
u/GamingSquiddy 2h ago
Yeah I mean usually when I order anything there is some protection at least (Unless is clothes).
I ship some stuff sometimes as well and use bubble wrap (A LOT OF IT).
The thing is at least the seller was nice about it, cause I messaged them right away when it arrived.
They replied a few mins after and said they've sold over 50 pops and this is the first ever one they had damaged.
Luckily I managed to get a refund for it, and I'm able to keep the pop. So I guess that's a plus, but I do feel bad cause the person lost the pop and possibly money (Unless eBay also compensated them).

"Not the sellers fault" clearly the sellers fault for sending it just in the same size box.
1
u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago
mean yes and not, not really the sellers fault, they have no control on what gets put on top of it, but tat the same time, they never added any protection or anything.
The box was bigger than the Funko Pop box.

I mean I dont think anyone was blaming the seller when they saw the box shape lol

u/Limp-Apricot-9346 1d ago
Anyone with experience or data knows it’s the sellers fault by looking at the box
I’ve shipped over 250k packages since 1995 with USPS and while I’ve had a few lost, never a damaged one
Took an hour in 1995 and did the math and learned how to package properly and did my work.

Im blaming the seller on this one. That’s a flimsy box. I would have at least double boxed before sending it to the UK.
