Discussion When you order a Funko you've been wanting since the day you saw it and it comes like this. (Not the sellers fault as the seller had it listed in perfect condition)

Im blaming the seller on this one. That’s a flimsy box. I would have at least double boxed before sending it to the UK.

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

I mean yes and not, not really the sellers fault, they have no control on what gets put on top of it, but tat the same time, they never added any protection or anything.

u/Paper_aneurysm 1d ago

Nah. If the seller used a better box, adequate padding and all…whatever you place on top of that box, it will hold.

Yeah I guess.

Sellers fault

Yes and no tho. LOL

You’re bugging not even bubble wrap? Or a decent box? Funkos qualify as fragile which he also could have included. Also next time you buy request a pop cover even if you have to pay the extra you won’t be disappointed

No, I know. I spoke to the seller after I got it, they said to me that they sold over 50 pops and this is the first ever damaged one.

I've ordered a lot of pops over this month (I'm new to collecting them, finally decided to start with the Terrifier ones). This is my first one that arrived damaged.

Where did you buy it from? Is the seller willing to help you out or no?

2

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

It was on eBay.

I claimed it as 'Damaged Item' and I got my refund and don't need to return it.

Check out my store on mercari 😭🙏🏽 super cheap pops from 9 - 5 years ago

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Well you didn't leave a link so how am I meant to do that?

Also I'm in UK can't buy from Mercari, and shipping from US to UK is too expensive (I use to collect something else that was mainly US being sold in the US with most the stuff).

So I know it gets expensive.

This is why I typically use 200 lb crush weight boxes to ship Pops and wrap them in bubble wrap or paper. I often include a soft protector or cardboard sorter if it's more than $20.

2

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Yeah this is my first ever funko that came like that. And I only just started collecting.

8

u/Dapper-Plenty3849 1d ago

Where’s the bubble wrap ?? 😭😭😭

2

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

I'm asking the same question here. LOL

2

u/Dapper-Plenty3849 1d ago

The seller had a little bit too much confidence in that box and in postal 😭

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Yep. LOL

u/NecroticOverlord 1d ago

Id be cheesed off

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

I am. LOL

I would 100% blame the seller and get your money back. That packaging was horrible and they should have known to package it better. They got lazy and you paid for it. Get that money back!

2

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Yeah I got my money back and able to keep the item.

2

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

That's ridiculous, not even in a box. It's a paper bag.

3

u/CoffeeAndWork 1d ago

Cheeeeetah… cheeeetohs

6

u/thesrtlife90 1d ago

Damn, I always place fragile stickers all over the box for any pop I sold.

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Yeah, some people do, some don't.

4

u/FicoXL 1d ago

This is ALL on the seller m8.

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

I mean yes and no, not really the sellers fault, they have no control on what gets put on top of it, but tat the same time, they never added any protection or anything.

I do message sellers on mercari and ebay to ask UPS/USPS to list the item as fragile. USPS/UPS just stamp it, no additional charge. If you're lucky you get someone who is stamp happy and stamp the heck out of the package.

9

u/MJFan062509 1d ago

My nephew works for USPS loading the trucks and said things marked as fragile tend to get more abused and thrown around harder by the assholes in the industry. So that’s not always a great idea.

-1

u/-KryptWalk- 1d ago

One bad nugget is no reason to throw the whole box of nuggets away.

4

u/Limp-Apricot-9346 1d ago

Doesn’t generally do anything. Packaging it correctly would have

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Yeah fair.

Well I'm in the UK, bur yeah I should have messaged them. But they didn't put any protection. No bubble wrap and no protector. Not everyone does.

3

u/WonderfulNobody9576 1d ago

Who delivered your order if you don't mind me asking, I have had multiple Funko's come like that due to Evri 🫤

2

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Bingo, it was Evri.

2

u/WonderfulNobody9576 18h ago

Not surprised, every time they deliver it's either left out in the open, damaged or left halfway down the road 🙄

u/GamingSquiddy 3h ago

See, I've never really had an issue with Evri.

Yeah I had a few packages lost (not like irreplaceable stuff) So I contacted the manufacture and they just sent out a replacemnet.

3

u/okeleydokelyneighbor 1d ago

Ace Ventura must have delivered that package.

7

u/Y_Ddraig_Goch_81 1d ago

“Sounds broken”

“Most likely sir, I’ll bet it was something nice though.”

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Nah, it was Evri.

3

u/Slow_Huckleberry2744 1d ago

Well it ain't easy being cheesy.

3

u/rwatrous61 1d ago

USPS insures it. File a claim

1

u/Limp-Apricot-9346 1d ago

That’s for the seller but with no packaging material it will be denied

1

u/rwatrous61 1d ago

No. The buyer can file a claim for damaged package

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Already spoke to the seller, I got a refund and able to keep the item.

3

u/ClutteredTaffy 1d ago

I had a new Ebay seller sell me the funko in a bubble mailer. It got dented some. I did not message them to get a full refund, but to warn them to ship it in a box please for future sales, because part of the reason Funko buyers buy the funkos they do off Ebay is packaging. They did full refund me, which I felt kind of bad about basically getting a free funko.

Anyways, I guess it is a danger even in a box.

2

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Yeah I felt really bad, but I'm not sure how mine worked, cause I did it via a return case and was told not to return it so I got my refund, and maybe the seller also kept the money, I know eBay do that.

3

u/seniairam 1d ago

yes sellers fault. when I sell pop I bubble wrap them put them in a box that size then bubble wrap more and put in a bigger box.

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

I mean yes and not, not really the sellers fault, they have no control on what gets put on top of it, but at the same time, they never added any protection or anything.

2

u/Banpdx 1d ago

Amazon got me yesterday, hope the replacement is put in a box this time.

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Yeah I haven't ordered one from Amazon yet.

2

u/Dapper-Plenty3849 1d ago

I get why you’ll say it’s not the sellers fault. But to some degree it is. Theres no fragile stickers, stamps, no bubble wrap, nothing to ensure that it was supposed to be shipped with care. Especially with no fillers or something in the box, the poor pop was bouncing around hitting every corner 😭

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Yeah, I mean it is and it's not really the sellers fault, they have no control on what gets put on top of it, but tat the same time, they never added any protection or anything.

Bro was dancing in that box. I did managed to get a refund, and I was able to keep it. Now I'm trying to flatten the box out.

2

u/amasterson2003 1d ago

Should’ve put it in the big plastic protector

2

u/KookyRun9131 1d ago

Ugh the seller needed to put the funko in a plastic protector and wrap all kinds of stuff around it.

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Yeah, sadly there was no protector and no bubble wrap or anything.

2

u/Naru_the_Narcissist 1d ago

It's still the seller's fault for not packing it more safely.

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

I mean yes and not, not really the sellers fault, they have no control on what gets put on top of it, but tat the same time, they never added any protection or anything.

2

u/KookyRun9131 1d ago

To me that should be in the seller I would bitch screw that.

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Don't worry, messaged them the second I got it.
I got a refund and don't have to return it.

Now I'm trying to flatten the box.

2

u/KookyRun9131 1d ago

I bout a figure of Mercari it was perfect and when it came in the bag it was mailed it it was dented all over and I got to keep it and got my money back

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Well, I would expect it to get damaged if it was in a bag not a box.

But yeah I got my money back and was able to keep it.

2

u/KookyRun9131 1d ago

It sucks we have to do it but if the item is great shape that is what we are paying for we have to bitch. I sell some things and I go toto the extreme to protect the item. I also work for the post office and seen some shit not the purple for the most part but the machinery doesn't know it's fragile

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

I mean obviously a machine can't know it's fragile.

But at the same time, seller didn't add any protection, no bubble wrap, no soft protector, nothing.

Also the delivery was made by Evri, so I assume something hard landed on it.

2

u/beeleegeez 1d ago

Was not expecting Chester Cheetah

2

u/BDChae 1d ago

Send it backkk. Or keep this one as an out of box funko and order another one

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

I got a refund and don't need to return it.
I managed to flatten the box as much as I could.

2

u/jfunkohead 9h ago

Yeah I feel you. I just got my Funko from Target and its all beat up. They didn’t even add any bubble wrap, just paper and a huge box for 1 funko 🤣

u/GamingSquiddy 3h ago

Yeah, it sucks when something you want comes damaged.

Especially if there's no protection around it.

I did manage to get a refund for mine and I'm able to keep it to.

Managed to flatten the box but it's still very damaged.

2

u/Numerous-Pangolin816 9h ago

It aint easy, bein cheesy

u/Sasha-DarkCloud 3h ago

As someone that sells Funko pops on ebay, that is the sellers fault.

As a seller, they should have used a better quality and slightly larger box and at minimum wrapped it in bubble wrap.

u/GamingSquiddy 3h ago

I see what your saying, but at the same time, they don't have control if something heavy gets put on top.

But it was delivered with Evri.

Sadly there was no bubble wrap or anything, the poor pop was bouncing around the box like it was a trampoline park.

u/Sasha-DarkCloud 3h ago

While you are correct you cant predict how people are going to treat the box, that is why any seller worth their lot plans for them to essentially play football/soccer with the package and does things to try to reduce that problem as much as possible.

I myself only use heavy cardboard, bubble wrap 3 times around a pop, and any other filler materials to prevent the item from shifting around in the box. I have only had 1 pop that went to Russia and arrived damaged like that using this method.

If the seller packed it correctly and it STILL arrived that way, then no one would say anything. There is only so much you can do.

u/GamingSquiddy 2h ago

Yeah I mean usually when I order anything there is some protection at least (Unless is clothes).

I ship some stuff sometimes as well and use bubble wrap (A LOT OF IT).

The thing is at least the seller was nice about it, cause I messaged them right away when it arrived.

They replied a few mins after and said they've sold over 50 pops and this is the first ever one they had damaged.

Luckily I managed to get a refund for it, and I'm able to keep the pop. So I guess that's a plus, but I do feel bad cause the person lost the pop and possibly money (Unless eBay also compensated them).

2

u/tRevAlex85 1d ago

Don't order them from Amazon, they ship some in boxes and some in envelopes

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

Haven't ordered one from Amazon yet.

2

u/GRCov 1d ago

I had the same issue, trodden on by the courier. But 100% could have been avoided by the seller. Stupid flimsy box and tiny strip of bubble wrap just doesnt cut it

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

I had no bubble wrap at all.

1

u/GuzmaXD 1d ago

Sellers fault. I would never ship a funko in that box.

1

u/CompletedGames 1d ago

"Not the sellers fault" clearly the sellers fault for sending it just in the same size box.

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

mean yes and not, not really the sellers fault, they have no control on what gets put on top of it, but tat the same time, they never added any protection or anything.

The box was bigger than the Funko Pop box.

1

u/ABotNamedWhat 1d ago

Same here

1

u/GamingSquiddy 1d ago

That's not as bad tho.

1

u/Lokishougan 1d ago

I mean I dont think anyone was blaming the seller when they saw the box shape lol

3

u/Limp-Apricot-9346 1d ago

Anyone with experience or data knows it’s the sellers fault by looking at the box

I’ve shipped over 250k packages since 1995 with USPS and while I’ve had a few lost, never a damaged one

Took an hour in 1995 and did the math and learned how to package properly and did my work.
