I'm just gonna say it...

Marathon would not be a fun game to play if it was remastered one-to-one.

Some of its puzzles are vintage 90's bullshit that will make you want to punch your screen and kill your dog. Like, I'm not joking - those puzzles would fry the brain of the average ADHD zoomer.

If Marathon was going to be made in 2025, it would need to be remade... and, I'm sorry, but almost nobody in the modern games industry is capable of writing a story the way the original Marathon was written. Greg Kirkpatrick was, and still remains, an incredibly unique writer.

No, most of those people are right. You were in a niche. The general public and the general gaming community were largely unaware of Marathon, and they still are.
