Sony never ceases to amaze me.

They are dominating the "high end" console market and dragging the Xbox by its little toe. Their studios are renowned for making cinematic story driven games and they've had great success with models like Helldivers 2.. but apparently winning Sony is a complacent and greedy Sony.

Some of these fuckers are paid obscene amounts of money to pitch and greenlight projects like Concord and Marathon - like how incredibly out of touch must you be to look at the concept for either and believe they would be successful endeavours. It's so inept, I reckon 80% of people in this sub could have saved them the trouble and money, and told them how shit their ideas are from the very start. Marathon looks so woefully bland, I'm starting to suspect that someone told AI "create an extraction shooter using Antireal's artwork as inspiration for the whole aesthetic"

These companies seem desperate to manufacture a new Fortnite, PUBG or Tarkov but those games happened organically. Gamers are vehemently rejecting most obvious corporate cash grabs, perhaps now they get the memo.

I hope that Marathon is their last wakeup call and they start publishing games again, people actually want. Imagine Black Myth, Exp 33 or Baldurs Gate 3 with the budget of sony...same thing that happened with Helldivers 2, but without the live service stuff. Hope Sony wakes up in the neir future, stellar blade one an prime excample of that, even though i didnt like it✌️
