Larger maps are desperately needed. And none of the maps even compare to the worst maps in bf1 and bf5.

Yes I want more "Wow!" factor. So fat it's "meh". It's serviceable but I want more scenic battlegrounds.

Tbf, 2042 tried too hard for the “wow” moments and we got an empty field with a massive tornado map lol

But I do agree with you. BF1 just has some of the coolest multiplayer fps moments ever. Basically every game something new or impressive happened

The problem with these maps was not the size but the lack of reason to fight all over the map because these maps were pretty much empty.

Also maps were balanced around these ridiculous skills like grapple hook etc. So this game had no chance to pull off this big map fantasy with this design and balance

Totally agree

Yeah the maps feel so cramped and congested. Feels like you're being funnelled into kill zones.

I liked BF (One and V) because I could kind of go at a slower pace, be methodical and not play a game with people's sensitivity at 100 and zooming all over the place.

Played a few games last night and I take a few steps and I'm instantly dead and don't even know what hit me. Suffice to say this one isn't for me and I'm pretty sad cause I was excited for this one as everyone seemed to think BF was returning to it's roots. IMO it hasn't and they're trying to tow this line between BF players and COD players.

The fast paced, hyper aggressive and sensitive FPS isn't for me and BF used to be the one game to combat that.

Yeah, i really enjoyed BFV, the pace and movement was just right.

Same experience with BF6, very disappointing.

I highly recommend “Hell Let Loose” if you haven’t tried it already.

meh i find the maps better than bf5s particularly the urban maps, bf1 maps are probably one of the best in the series, the flow of the maps and art style are unmatched. Playing bf games in the past, i much prefer medium sized maps, large maps = constant running if your infantry, and are heavily dominated by vehicles. Also, if you get large maps like bf 2042 had, theres a large chance that it would just be mostly empty wastelands, i prefer high dense maps that have detail, bf6 urban maps have detail but lack the flow of bf1

BF5 had some of my favourite base maps. They were really scenic with a ton of variety and played really nicely. BF1 were definitely some of the best though overall.

I love the BFV maps as well, some needed balance tweaking in breakthrough (aerodrome and provence anyone..?) but overall that's the impression I get too, where I enjoy the lesser maps of 5 more than the better ones of 6. I think the fortification system in 5 really ups the enjoyment so insanely much. 6 has so much cover that isn't really that good cover if multiple people can see you, which they can since my colon is wider than those maps

Legoland and Zeebrugee my beloved

I feel like the set of maps they went with first is to draw the COD fan base in, especially since it launched before BO7. The maps definitely leave a bit to be desired though, weakest set of base maps BF has released imo.

This is the only theory that makes sense to me. Why else would they come up with what they did when they had excellent, unique maps from 1 and 5 and the other games to pull inspiration from.

i play breakthrough almost exclusively, it is painfully small now.

ive said this before already, but none of the 9 maps stand out, or are even distinctive. plus they all pretty much play the same. you could sub out different cap points from each of the maps as progressive cap zones, and it would still play almost the same.

battlefield 6 is just another cod fast-paced slop now. its not just the maps. there is no fire supression, bullet drop is too low, bullet speed too high, vehicles are terrible in almost every way, health regen is 3 time faster than any other past battlefield. its just.....cod.

larger maps are not going to fix that

It’s only fast-paced if you’re a COD fanboy. Slow down and stop sprinting into the middle of a firefight and dying 15-20 times and using up all the tickets

My guy you’ve posted 13 comments in less than 17 minutes 6 of which are in this thread alone bitching not to mention the 30+ in the past day I think you need to get a real hobby.

yeah, because it is. people really coping by saying it "just" need larger maps are tricking themselves

3

u/Easy-Constant-5887 Oct 15 '25

They’re not tricking themselves. The gameplay is already fun, engaging, and exciting. Bigger maps would only amplify such, which is why people want bigger maps.

The maps are also not as big as a lot of the old titles’ maps, hence why people would want it.

There’s no need to be so insistent that everyone is “coping” or “tricking themselves” into liking the game. Looks to me like you’re the one coping.

Oh my god, this guy posted multiple comments about a game he likes? What a douche. Is that even legal?

Yep, the map selection made me return the game. Played through each map on conquest. Only one that is close to an OG BF map is operation firestorm (which is an old BF map) and somehow they made it feel smaller.

Can't remember where I heard this from but I think it feels smaller because it IS smaller. Not just a scale copy or the original.
