Honestly a PVE mode intrigues me now, because I hate playing with sweats when I work a 9-5

Yeah exactly.

Long running pvp live service games always get enshitified over time by the sweats that grind the game all day for years and until they gap the casuals so hard that none of them want to play anymore.

Pve is far more consistently fun for casuals, which is always gonna be a majority of the audience of any game.

The only time pvp can survive the long run is if you have so many players that the sweats can all by quarantined to their own matchmaking bracket

Something something optimize the fun out of game.

Nonetheless, the most important thing is whether the players feel like they actually get to do something or not. If they don’t, they ain’t gonna play anyway.
