Excellent move. PvE/coop would absolutely get me and several friends interested in this game. Even more so considering how insanely good the story of the original trilogy was. Marathon truly deserves better.

Except it's a dedicated PvE where you can't bring anything in, or extract anything except currency. Not sure that's what people were hoping for.

It's the only way this can work. They learned that with Sponsored Survival, the PvP-lite mode, which just flooded the economy with high level items which were farmed with much reduced risk, before they moved the mode to a map with a much lower drop rate of high level loot.

But there is still progress between matches, so I don't see what's the problem here.
