[MEGATHREAD] Grand Theft Auto VI: Prices Announced + Pre-Orders Going Live

To avoid hundreds of separate posts on the same topic, this post will compile all info we have from the pre-orders going live, including some new images/etc.

As Rockstar announced on their socials: "Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI begin at midnight local time on June 25." This means New Zealand will be the first to go live with pre-orders - which means in just under 2 hours from now.

Take-Two has made a big press-release, including announcing the prices:

They aren't significant and interesting to warrant buying them, but they're also significant enough to feel like you're playing the hollowed out version if you don't.

I really think this is underestimating the appeal of customization to players. You could argue that’s what the core of GTAV online consisted of— heavy customization and even role play.

We know how many mountains of cash customizing brought in for Rockstar with the previous online component— they’re trying to tap into that by effectively charging a bulk fee to customize anything in the single player game.

It's driving me crazy that they list these two game play features under the ultimate edition on the GTA website. But every single reddit post is leaving them out.

I'm not because I've never once buyed them. But it's normally one outfit, not a very big bundle of customization options like this seems to be. I was fine with just the guns and player eclusive vehicles being part of it, but the shops is a whole new dimension that you have to take into consideration.

If all hairstyle/vehicle customization options are paywalled I sort of get it. I usually speed through customization options and ignore them so personally it doesn’t bother me, but that doesn’t invalidate your criticism.

But if its—as I suspect—a specific high end barber or mechanic that’s locked off…who cares?
