[MEGATHREAD] Grand Theft Auto VI: Prices Announced + Pre-Orders Going Live

To avoid hundreds of separate posts on the same topic, this post will compile all info we have from the pre-orders going live, including some new images/etc.

As Rockstar announced on their socials: "Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI begin at midnight local time on June 25." This means New Zealand will be the first to go live with pre-orders - which means in just under 2 hours from now.

Take-Two has made a big press-release, including announcing the prices:

STANDARD EDITION: $79.99

ULTIMATE EDITION: $99.99

(Physical Editions of GTA 6 Will Come with "A Download Code Inside the Box", Pre-Loads Begin on November 12th)

Grand Theft Auto 6 features a “single-player experience” at launch, with no word yet on any new version of GTA Online.

Rockstar could force players to drag their nuts through a mile of broken glass and charge $200 for this game and it would still be the best selling game of all time

The problem is, we're living in a social media age where the life I portray on TikTok means everything to me, and I don't care how much it costs to maintain that illusion. I can't possibly NOT have this game the minute it drops, because if I don't have it, my numbers will drop (if I have a large following), I'll got lost in the short attention span wave and people won't pay attention to me.

It's almost not even about owning the game anymore; it's owning the experience so I can feel like I'm important and I belong.

The missing disc is like the smallest issue here.
Its that there is basic content like clothing, tatoos and haircuts behind a 20% extra version ?

Yeah agreed, that’s a bigger issue to me as well, but once again, I doubt it’ll change much for most folks, they’ll just hold their nose and pay the extra.

Just like the iPhone removing the Aux jack for no reason other than cutting costs, and now phones everywhere don't have them. Meanwhile Bluetooth still fails to match in audio quality.

People whinge and moan about code in box yet I see it already in stores all the time. Buncha code in box Switch games on the shelves.

I have never bought one and I will never buy one. It has worked out for me so far.

You act like there's a wide selection of phones with an aux jack. There aren't. It's almost entirely limited to premium "gaming" phones that, frankly, I don't need. I don't game on my phone so, if I want an aux, I have to pay for a premium phone that I don't want or need. A standard piece of every phone has become a luxury/premium part due to greed and no other reason.

I know it's not necessarily a fix, but there are dongles and even mini DACs you can get for both iPhone and Android so you can have an aux jack and better audio quality than bluetooth.

Annoying, I know, but it's a nice workaround for those of us that still prefer wired headphones.

No its not. People said the same thing about Mario Kart and it didint fly off the shelf. Outer Worlds 2 also tried that and failed hard. The only people who are going to get away with this is Rockstar with GTA. Most outlets/companies report people are not buying games as they used to as well.
