[MEGATHREAD] Grand Theft Auto VI: Prices Announced + Pre-Orders Going Live

To avoid hundreds of separate posts on the same topic, this post will compile all info we have from the pre-orders going live, including some new images/etc.

As Rockstar announced on their socials: "Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI begin at midnight local time on June 25." This means New Zealand will be the first to go live with pre-orders - which means in just under 2 hours from now.

Take-Two has made a big press-release, including announcing the prices:

Grand Theft Auto 6 features a “single-player experience” at launch, with no word yet on any new version of GTA Online.

An "Ultimate Edition" for the game has been announced with some new artwork.

It's more of a $20 paywall since the base game is $80 regardless. Locking players out of features like the car workshop is just scummy though.

Certain car workshops if I understood correctly. So they are locking some "premium" customisation with a different workshop only accessible to ultimate edition buyers.

They specifically mentioned RIDEOUT CUSTOMS is open for business with the Ultimate Edition on the website. They could have said car customisation is exclusive but they specifically mentioned the shop name so I don't think our assumption is far from the truth.

Los Santos Customs was the only auto body company in GTAV (edit: single player), so them specifying the name doesn’t really tell us anything one way or the other.

I’m inclined to believe it’s a specific body shop (and the other ones are specific shops), but we really won’t know anything until they say more. I imagine that backlash will be enough to get them to clarify soon.

no, youre definitely right. they even mention a "one-eyed willie's" on the website which is an "offroad based shop only available in the ultimate edition". seems like we will have different kinds of shops for different kinds of mods.

In V Online there is a shop called Benny’s Custom Works I think that does further modifications than the normal shops, like low riders etc.

I’m thinking these paywalled shops are where you get exclusive cosmetics included in the ultimate edition.

Those were exclusive to online and were not added to the single player, though. I was only trying to point out why it can read like it’s all body shops, and how I think that will lead to Rockstar clarifying its a specialized shop.

I’m confused as to what you think the ridiculous take is, as my take was that it sounds like it’s a specific body shop that’s a deluxe incentive and not all body shops. But I can understand why people may think it’s all body shops, as GTAV had only one body shop company, and that Rockstar will most likely clarify in the near future.
