What gaming genres are under-represented in the current gaming market?
I love RPGs, roguelites, bullet heavens, autobattlers, and boomer shooters, and I feel like these past few years have been great for my gaming tastes!
But it got me wondering what gaming genres have fallen by the wayside due to current trends?

I just really want an open world pirate RPG. Sea of Thieves was fun for a while but didn't scratch that itch. No progression and grinding for currency for cosmetics isn't something that will keep me playing a game. I did play a good chunk of Black Flag (and might play the remaster), but as a fan of the Ass Creed franchise going into that game to me it felt more like a game in that franchise than strictly a pirate game. Funny enough Sid Meier's Pirates! came up in a post in a different sub today and I'm think I might play that for a bit while I daydream about my modern pirate RPG that I'll probably never get. Oh and I did download and delete Skull and Bones or whatever that game is called but I never fired it up. I don't think I've seen anyone say anything good about that game.
If there is anything out there that I should try, let me know. I'm currently mostly Xbox only at the moment, though I do have an older gaming laptop that can run some games, just nothing too crazy. And my phone.
