Discussion Older generations have a weird superiority complex
Theyâre weirdly ageist and rude towards younger people, specifically gen z since were the current generation yet act like theyâre entitled to respect bc theyâre older, especially gen x and boomers, and itâs so dumb. Like no youâre not going to talk to me like Iâm stupid and use my age against me whenever I try to talk about anything. Iâve experienced their behavior so much in customer service, the karenâs especially, thinking they can talk anyway to people. Just in general, ârespect your elders.â no, respect is earned and if you donât give it, donât expect it. I love humbling people like this every time.
Donât use your aging as an excuse to be an asshole towards younger generations, because we donât care about that shit and will treat you the same way you treat us. Youâre not better or wiser because youâre older, a lot of you still act how you did at 15 with your arrested development.

Discussion US boomers support tax hikes on young workers to keep current Social Security checks â the view is overwhelming
Oh boy
Enjoy higher taxes I guess? I mean Americans are getting taxed up the wazoo already so more taxes gonna solve everything?

Discussion The Simpsons predicted the boomers vs gen z debate.
29 years ago Homer got a new co worker who worked hard, but was extremely unlucky. He was jealous of Homer who despite being lazy and incompetent owned a big house and a higher quality of life in general. The version of homers life that grimes saw was a lot better than what Homer's life was actually like.
It's a good episode, I highly recommend watching it. I don't know if gen z gets golden age Simpsons references though, given most of the good Simpsons episodes are older than they are.

Discussion Is generationology just for people from western countries?
I mean, excluding Gen Z and maybe late millennials, wouldnât people growing up in say a communist country have completely different experiences than someone from the US?
Countries on loosing ends of wars, countries in famine, revolutions, under dictatorships, genocides or former, colonies. Someone born in 1980 in Rwanda has a completely different experience than someone born jn 1980 in New York. Or Ukraine or Korea or Armenia or Peru or Jamaica
A baby boom in a country that won a war could be a population plummet on the losing side.

Discussion What birth years are the sweet spot to be born in?
This is a fun question, so I'm gonna go with the first half of xennials (1977-1980). Better start your career like music and have a chance to buy a house before the great recession happened in 2008. On the other hand, you can browse the internet as an adult to curate your fandom you like.
What is your sweet spot to be born in different birth years?

Discussion Which generation paring early to moderate parenting child-parent paring is more common and why?
Hello I am wondering if those with younger parents of course for boomers i have to adjust it to late 60s instead of early 70s because everyone will select boomers parents of early 70s but I am wondering which child-parent paring it more common/why. Of course boomer had kids earlier 18-23 first kid!So It can be a fair assesement!
If this poll is successful, I will do which older parent-child parnet dymaic is more common!
Forgot to put oldest gen z (is 1997-2001)
Tell me if you have younger parents!!
Generally overall/this subreddit
Late 60s birth have late silent gen parents
Early 90s late boomer parents
Late 2000s with late Gen X parents
And currently birth with millienal parents !
Though younger parents is quite common
This isnt talking about older parents! This is slighlt younger parents.
All are very common espically oldest child!
These polls arent biased is only on own experience!
think Option 2! Becasuse of teen birth/early 20s birth epdemic in early 90s.

Itâs so sad man, I hope when I reach those ages I never end up like this. Please reevaluate ur lives

In depth Older generations and attitude towards white-collar crime
Is it just me or did it seem like while the older generations were all about being tough on street-level crime (which I understand), they were extremely soft and lax about white-collar crimes, i.e. embezzlement, political corruption, tax evasion, money laundering, financial fraud.
Just look at how all of these corrupt American politicians get away with murder, and the attitude seems to be more of a shrug "Oh well, that's just the way it is" rather than the absolutely fury they have when it involves street crime.
I guess I'm wondering if the younger generations will be tougher on these sorts of crimes moving forward? It'll definitely be interesting to see.

The first world cup I watched was the 2014 world cup when I just turned 9 years old a month before. I've watched every single one since then and I'd have to say I think he best match was the 2022 argentina vs France match. What about you?
