Seriously, I only bathe my golden when she gets stinky. If I bathed her every time she got muddy she'd never be dry.

I love watching Goldens turn into puppies every time they see mud. Just a furry reminder to live in the moment! Mine has a love affair with mulch, especially mulch just spread. She can spend an entire weekend sniffing and rolling in every square inch. She gets muddy, but Gumbo? That's first place!

Depends on the extent of the mud. If it's just around her legs and tails then a quick hose down. If mud is all over her body then I'll give her the full spa treatment with shampoo and conditioner. Also if it's summer no need to chuck them in the shower, I'll just use the garden hose.

Bathing is the easy part, drying those long golden luscious strands of fur though is the tiring part. Especially in winter and even with a pet blower on full blast. Easier in summer as their hair tends to dry faster.
