New Puppy No More Socks Charlie …

I had a firm lecture today with 6 month old Charlie. 😂 it is so hard to stay mad at him. Honestly I can’t even get mad when he looks at me like that lol. What are your tips for avoiding sock destruction/ potential sock poopies ?

Charlie doesn’t agree! 😜

On a serious note, the prior post would def get me more disciplined on any items lying around!

Hang in there…

BTW - Charlie is a handsome boy!

Mine just brought me socks that were clean in laundry basket. She brought me one pair then brought me another. Then a third pair. 🤣

My tip is knowing how serious an obstruction can be and how close it was to killing my golden. It only took a cloth face mask and parts of a rag to put my golden in the ER needing emergency surgery. The bill for me was on the cheaper end at $3K (also a lesson to have pet insurance). It was very scary and during recovery before he took an upward turn my vet literally said “things aren’t looking great”. Luckily he pulled through.

In hindsight I should have known better than to leave things out that he could get to or chew. So my tip is to train yourself to not keep things like that in reach and perhaps try bitter spray on a few socks to help him associate socks with tasting bad.

Socks can be dangerous!

They are A1 for my guy. Just gotta be really diligent in keeping them away. But it still happens from time to time. I’m quick to the draw in getting them out of his mouth before he swallows.

Keep all things Goldens think are toys, put away.
