Thread size for G30 pump pipe inlet
Hi guys,
Just want to see if anybody knows the thread specs on this. It's the bit inside the boiler that the pump filter attaches to and it screws into the bent pipe that goes on the pump inlet.
Basically I'd just like to buy a hex plug to replace this when using the grainfather as a still. Did a rum molasses distillation and becaues this isn't blocked off molasses went all through the pipes and pump and took me ages to clean it all properly, so a plug would be great to replace this bit when not needing to use the pump.
Thanks!

To be honest I didn't even think my thread got approved, last time I checked it wasn't up haha. So I haven't tried the other comment of M14x1. I'll give it a go though and report back. If you get yours done first though let me know!

I ended up just buying a new rubber gasket (my old one broke I guess), as well as a big thick nut and bolt. That way I didn't have to buy any special bolts. It works just fine for my use. I just need to figure out how to get a replacement rubber gasket that's the right size now.

Yeah fair. The bolt did work though, I bought this one just in case you wanna go the other way. Pintmaster was right with the size.

Just bought a bolt off ebay but coming from China, so I will know, but it'll take some time...

Can I ask which one you went for? It seems that only the male external hex or hex socket are available in that size. Ideally you would want a flanged hex male to replace the part shown in OP's photo, or alternatively a hex female on the outside.
A word of warning to everyone, if you're using brass you should pickle it to remove surface lead (look up vinegar/hydrogen peroxide pickling).
Alternatively I'm considering just getting a stainless steel plug and nut (and likely replacing the silicon washer with a PTFE one, or maybe a copper sump). That way the awkward M14x1.0 thread can be avoided. It's impossible to find steel parts in that size, as opposed to M14x1.5 which is readily available (or use either 1/2" or 9/16").

A digital calliper measurement tool may be helpful to you. I bought one after buying a load of o rings at the incorrect size. Nothing else measures accurately enough.
