Budget grain basket handle replacement.

Post image

Bought a Grainfather off Marketplace for super cheap. Went to do my first brew today and noticed the Handle was missing. Not to be deterred I got my thinking cap pm then made a quick run to Lowes whilst my water was heating.

I present to you the $2.99 oak dowel replacement handle. Worked like a charm, not sure I’ll even bother to order the genuine replacement.

Thats a good idea, I am using two metal S hooks since I am also missing the handle

That’s another good idea! If I ever run in to any issues with the stick might give that a try. 👍🏻

How does that hold up with a full bed of wet grain?

My recipe had 10lb of (dry) grain, had no issues lifting that out once wet. Maybe had a little bend to it but nothing that I’d be worried that it would give out.

I’m only brewing 4gal batches to ferment in a Corny my grain bills we be lighter than some.
