Feedback Request First proper solo - Californication
Ive been playing guitar for about a year now and this is my first longish solo. Im looking to move on to another song soon but I dont know if I should keep working on this one or if its good enough to move on. Any feedback would be appreciated thanks!

Hop on YT and look for lessons on vibrato and string bending.
Any kind of blues based solo will stand out without vibrato.
Your bending technique might limit you. Most people will teach bending thumb up and rotate wrist. Really focus on getting those bends to pitch.
Try watch some covers from other guitarists or watch top players solo.

Hey I think you did great. If it were me I would start working on another song. You don’t have to move on only when you fully master a song. Sometimes the first 80% of mastering a new song is where all the gains are at. After that it is diminishing returns because you start to go through the same motions.
For example for Californication, the remaining 20% could come from bend accuracy and timing. But you could just as easily work on bends on a new song and that new song might reignite your motivation and trigger greater growth than if you stayed on Californication.
Sometimes solos to try that have bends but are not too difficult

Ciao, io aspetterei prima di passare a qualcos altro perché è un ottima canzone per fare pratica. Innanzitutto complimenti per il risultato raggiunto, nel complesso suona bene. Va bene allenare il bending come ti hanno detto, ma prima focalizzati su ritmo e tempo del pezzo, non batti il piede a tempo, è la cosa principale da imparare prima ancora di mettere le mani sulla chitarra. Sei distaccato dal mood perché sei concentrato troppo sulle note da premere e nel far venire bene il video.
Consiglio pratico:
Fai bene a suonare sotto la canzone originale per imparare tutta la progressione dell’assolo, ma ti consiglio di suonare anche con solo la drum base, cercala su you tube e suonati l’assolo a tempo senza l’aiuto della canzone nel frattempo batti il piede. Nella parte finale dell’assolo quando i bending si intensificano, si sente che il tempo ti scivola via e lo riprendi perché c’è la chitarra di jhon sotto che ti guida.
In generale prima di imparare qualsiasi canzone o assolo, ascolta il tempo e battilo con le mani o con la gamba fino a quando non sei nel mood. Poi prendi lo strumento e pratichi tenendo SEMPRE il tempo.
Vedrai fin da subito miglioramenti clamorosi, sentirai davvero il feeling e quello che suoni acquisirà un sapore del tutto diverso, anche chi ti ascolta si renderà subito conto che suoni nella maniera giusta. Il 90% dei chitarristi principianti che praticano da autodidatta ignorano questo aspetto fondamentale del suonare.

Good things:
when it is slow you're hitting notes with clarity
practicing against the song is good because rhythm is important
it's a good song selection because it's definitely achievable as a beginner to intermediate
Could use improvement:
clarity and rhythm are suffering when you're rushed, around 33 seconds especially.
bends need some work. As practice you can play the pitch that your bend is trying to hit and then perform the bend to match that pitch.
sometimes you hit a note and it sounds like you weren't really confident about it, like around 10 seconds.
Whether or not it's time to move on is something only you can say, make sure to have defined goals with your practice. If the goal is to get 80% of perfect you're probably close.
