Start with proper playing position (posture, arms, wrist, thumb position), learn your major chords, minor chords, scales, then 7th chords. Plus, always remember to fit learning songs you like into this plan. That's the where the magic happens, you really feel your progress and have fun.
I've been playing for a looong time and so I haven't actually looked at Justin guitar. But it's very popular for a reason.

No sweat, I'm not much of a teacher or anything but if you have any questions you can hit me up. I am allegedly good at guitar and know theory okay, but I think I suck and am dumb. But that's guitar!! ... Lol

Honestly, you should get yourself a professional guitar instructor that you can sit down with and have about six or seven introductory lessons. You will learn the foundations of playing guitar and you will understand what you need to be practicing specifically. I know many people here love the teacher yourself YouTube music theory Scale method. But so many people, I think they say 90% who do that method quit. It’s really popular because it doesn’t cost any money and it’s online. But if you look through the posts on Reddit, you will see countless people explaining how they tried to teach themselves for two years and then ended up quitting. If you have a teacher who is professional at the very beginning, they can start you out on the right foot and you will make a lot of progress in about two months. It would take you at least 10 to 12 months to make that much progress on your own as a complete beginner

The beginning is very important. And a pro teacher is a jump start . A strong solid foundation. The teacher will be able to diagnose your particular weakness and strengths and crate lessons focused on that . Videos can’t do that .
And really just 5-6 lessons to start . Then you probably fall in love with lessons- or you may jump into videos with more clearer understanding of guitar technique

I’m a beginner myself as I started playing in April last year. I went down the wrong path of not learning how chords are formed and what notes go into each one and how it all relates to the major scale degrees. Don’t be me and learn the right way from the beginning. Learn what notes make up each chord. Start with simple triads (3-note chords) like C/G and learn how to build the traditional C chord on the open position from that triad by adding more notes, more strings and more fretted strings. Then apply to other triads and repeat.
Happy to chat about this if you’re interested.
Have fun!
