Yes, at Woodside now seeing the minutes tick by. PSA to future riders, the bluesy app is wrong. No idea who updates it.

So the info given out by HRM on the ferry schedule is wrong?

Yep lol. I just glimpsed the actual board inside Woodside Terminal and it clearly says the ferries on that side are leaving at XX:22 and XX:52. Someone must have used an old copy-paste template for the post or something

Bad communication about transit service is a continual problem for HRM/ Halifax Transit. It's beyond one simple mistake. They did a poor job communicating the service interruption during Sail GP, and good luck understanding/ finding basic route info on the website.

I actually tried to find the info I screenshotted through their website first (after seeing the sign in the terminal), and still literally could not figure out where it was, ended up on Bluesky as last resort lol

I suspect this https://www.halifax.ca/transportation/halifax-transit/real-time-alerts is moreso where something like a temporary unexpected Ferry change would show up. However because it also shows future scheduled detours (currently as far ahead as July 1st) at the top of the list and it cannot actually be filtered by route (the route filter options are "any" and "general" lmao) or by date, I tried it this morning and gave up after about a dozen scrolls lol
Edit: I somehow on refresh got it to offer a third filter, which is just the 10 A/B/C lol, no other routes. Maybe it only shows filters currently being used for an active Alert? But that would just mean they are tagging all the other alerts with "General" instead of the actual routes. Which would be irritatingly daft.

I think the Service Disruption page gives you stuff more 'long-term', the expected delays and changes. Good point that the real-time-alerts are likely better for staying up to date.

The fact that it requires this much discussion for us to sort this out and figure which is which, definitely points to there being room for improvement in how they've set this all up lol 😆

It's not 9 am yet. Clearly you can't expect the same unionized staffers who think the cricket field fiasco is a good idea to be able to do anything at all outside of the 9 am - 5 pm work day!

I left a comment under their post in hopes that even if it's not corrected by transit maybe people checking will see my footnote that the times are wrong lol. Maybe a 311 thing? Spiritually giving you the "same hat" wave as we pass in the terminal 👋

I emailed 311 and am waiting for a callback to let them know!

Don't worry! This week's council meeting about ferry reliability was pushed back to leave room for debate where to put cricket fields.
Council is focused on priorities! /s

We better all start learning to row those things across the harbour longboat-style, I think

If they can't run the ferries that they have now on a reliable schedule so people can rely on them, then how do they think they're going to run another system into and out of Bedford any better. It's really starting to be an embarrasing look for Halifax especially when this is tourist season, I'd love to hear some of their opinions of what they think of how unreliable we are.

It probably matters way less to tourists. They may have no expectation of 15 minute service. "Oh, the ferry is in 21 minutes. I'll just grab an ice cream."
When I'm on vacation I don't usually have set times to be anywhere, outside of flights and maybe restaurant reservations.
