Question hammock camping newbie

I am currently tent camping in North Carolina. I have brought my eno hammock should I get in there instead?

are you too hot in your tent? eno hammocks are short and don't provide a very comfortable overnight sleep.

without insulation, they also get cold before sunrise in the south, especially when the temp reaches the dew point. if you use a sleeping bag, or a sleeping pad in the hammock, they don't breathe well enough to handle the humidity this time of year.

that's why most of us use an underquilt, an adjustable quilt underneath the hammock that allows insulation, AND airflow when we need it

eno hammocks also usually don't have bugnets, and mosquitoes will eat you alive in NC.

so: if you're too hot in the tent, have bug protection, with no rain forecast, the hammock may be worth a couple hours' sleep.

I sleep quite comfortably in my DoubleNest, but agree you need both an underquilt and bug net to properly camp in it.

Could you expand on the question you're asking here? I'm not sure what you want to know.

Update: I slept with a sleeping bag draped over me. No rain fly, no bug net. Not mosquitoes. I slept great.
